Post by atab » Sun Aug 30, 2015 7:15 am

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Also, note that you can tape up your hose and repair it while you wait for the new one to arrive. Don't go without your therapy. Many different kinds of tape will work - packing tape, electrical tape, duct tape - anything with good adhesive. Just wrap it in a spiral and extend it well the broken part. Even if it still leaks very slightly, it will get you through until the new one arrives.

When you get your new hose, go ahead and wrap the part that connects to the rubber attachment (both ends) with either duct tape or electrical tape. This will prevent hose splits and cracks. I use electrical tape because it provides more flexibility than duct tape.

I have not needed to wrap any hoses since getting a hose hanger.
It keeps it safe from getting rolled over.

I never disconnect my hose. It is permanently attached to the machine and the mask end has a plastic connector. I never wash my hose so I never disconnect it. It never wears out although I do change it at about 15 months. I use the old hoses to hide electrical and computer wires. Cut off the ends and use a scissors to cut the length of the hose.

Me either, except in very rare situation.
I have over 5,000 hours on my current ClimateLine hose. Used the skinny Resmed hose cover for maybe a month then took it off (the hose cover affected flexibility). Don't use any sort of hose management system either. Have never needed to tape or reinforce the ends of the hose.

I did sacrifice a couple of old non heated hoses to do some wire covering like you use your old hoses for...did that last winter when the cats from hell decided to eat the wires on my internet modem...they love rubber covered wires.

you can buy a hose anywhere, ebay, amazon, online suppliers, even some truck stops. as others have mentioned, the only that that requires a prescription are complete masks and the machines themselves. everything else is rx free.

Thanks all for kind response. Yes, I'm going to wrap the current one until I get a new one. Good to hear they don't need prescription. I used this hose for about 10 years. My current mask is also about 2 years old. But now I have problems. Wife says I'm snoring. Getting headaches in the morning (this is why I got myself tested 10 years ago). I was out of the country for sometime. When I saw the doctor last time (about 2 years ago), she suspected that I am getting central apneas. At the sleep test I only had OSA. I should probably switch to a newer CPAP which shows centrals. My doctor allows me to adjust my pressure. If I have data, with help from this forum, I can do it myself.
