Re: CPAP vs Dental Appliance
I have been on CPAP for 1 year. About 3mths ago I tried a dental device. I thought that if it worked it would be good for travel and camping. After spending $$$$$ I lasted on the device for 3 nights. It was extremely uncomfortable but I spent the each night with it in. The problem was my morning hea...

Re: I'm a 24 yo thin female who was diagnosed with sleep apnea..
If it helps I am relatively thin (BMI 22.5) but roughly double your age. Like others mentioned here I have probably had it for a lot longer than the last 6mths since diagnosis. My father has it and I suspect my 10yo probably has it (to be tested). If it helps my niece (wife's family) is 23, not over...

Re: WISP MASK and welt on nose
I also had problems with the Wisp and nose bridge "bruise" which I couldn't overcome (I suspect my failing) but I was rescued by the P10. Also the P10 could handle side sleeping easier without any intervention on my part. Everyone is different though.....

I lost my SD card last night....
Also, I would suggest you consider getting a Toshiba Flashair SD card (connects with your home network on WiFi) and run that with Sleep Master if you think you are at risk of losing another one. With that setup you only have to open you PC/laptop and SleepMaster will import it into your PC and forma...

Re: NEWLY diagnosed OSA decisions: CPAP vs Oral device
I use cpap but had a go of a jaw device. Whilst I think the practicality and convenience of one gives the user a lot of flexibility and independence ( I wanted it for travel and camping) in my case it did nothing for my apnea and was very uncomfortable. If you have the ability to give it a go withou...

Re: Sleep Master Wireless XPAP data transfer
Tom. I am using the x.36 version (win 10) and it works great. Just wondering given the significant work (version) updates you have done on the Java version (multi platform) whether you think it's effectively now an upgrade from the win specific distro or just catch up? Thanks

Sensible replacement interval for P10 Nasal masks?
I am using the same P10 mask the last 7 months and yet to notice it stretching (YMMV). I use two pillows which I alternate daily which allows me to wash the other one in soap and water each night ( I think some one here had mentioned that setup) and it works well for me. So it stands to reason that ...

Re: CPAP Wireless SD Card for The Rest of Us
Papit, what about the other option of just using SleepMaster to automatically grab the data daily? I use SleepMaster and I don't generally need to do anything as its scheduled. Also, I shoot the data to my original SD card that is connected to the PC - this enables ResScan to also take the data in. ...

Re: Poll Re: Apnea and Your Weight
I have a BMI of 22 - in my instance its genetic (father also and probably my deceased GF).Enchanter wrote: Only a small fraction of people with OSA are thin. Some are, but most can get rid of OSA if they were in exceptionally good shape.

Poll Re: Apnea and Your Weight
Whilst ignoring the poll and the issues surrounding, one interesting factoid and backed up by studies I saw is that (at least initially) successful CPAP treatment of OA tends to cause a small amount of weight gain. I haven't seen any studies that address the root of the cause but rather noted in wri...

Re: If PAP prescription written in different state than I live
funny that they would accept prescriptions from Australia since they don't write prescriptions for xPAP machines. Did you ask your dr to give you one so you could order from the US?

Australian cpap prices
I believe the U.S. Is an anomaly when it comes to flow machine pricing. In large part it's due to the baseline pricing for the machines as set by the Medicare determined price. The level is very low. That's why the manufacturers pushed for and received better coverage on masks and consumables. It's ...
