One year Anniversary

Post by AlabamaAl » Sun Aug 30, 2015 7:49 am

I am celebrating my one year anniversary on cpap. Looking back, I have not had an ah ha moment when it turned me into a new creature, it has not helped me to loose a ton of weight, but it has eliminated nightly potty breaks, daytime drowsiness, helped increase my memory, and concentration, and left me not quite as grouchy as I was previously.
Sure, there were many problems I had to overcome such as mask leaks, face farts, Ill fitting headgear, dry mouth, DME ineptness and greed, etc. but all and all I am glad I stuck it out, with the help and advice many on this board have so generously given. This board has been a godsend to this "newbie" who didn't know a cpap from a pea thrasher.

Thank you to all who have freely given their knowledge, and advice. I am looking forward to many more years of better health.

We've got a good thing going with this forum. Please don't let all the backbiting and infighting destroy the forum you all have worked so hard to make the best place on the web for cpap knowledge, and advice.

AlabamaAl,

Congratulations on hitting your one year mark! Though the journey wasn't easy, you persevered through all of the challenges and have recieved some positive changes in your life. May the next year show increased improvement in the areas you are still having issues with. Keep up the good work!

cpap FOR life, cpap for LIFE

One time a cop pulled me over for running a stop sign. He said, "Didn't you see the stop sign?" I said, "Yeah, but I don't believe everything I read." -- Steven Wright

Great job on making it one year! I know a lot of people who have given up in that time frame and walking away from the therapy. Sounds like you have gotten a lot of positives thus far from CPAP and I am very, very glad to hear that. Keep it up and you can hit those other goals that you would like to hit. Great job my friend! Cheers!

Thank you for your post! It is important for people to realize that while some see an immediate improvement, for others it takes time. Unfortunately, far too many people give up without seeking help.

Please consider adding to the success stories thread that is pinned to the top of the forum to make it more likely for new people to see it. You can find it here: viewtopic/t14494/Newbie-would-like-to-h ... lease.html

Googled to see if a pea thrasher is really a thing. Learned something new today. Oh yeah, and congratulations!

Congratulations.
And thank you for the work on the extension to your humidifier. It encouraged me to complete my own.
