Respironics Optilife Nasal Pillow Mask

Post by CaptainRaven40 » Fri Aug 28, 2015 3:34 pm

Hello all! I was just wondering if anyone here uses the Respironics Optilife nasal pillow mask or has had in the past and liked it. I used one for my sleep titration study and I hate the mask I know masks are such a personal thing and I am sure it is an amazing mask for certain people. The thing that kills this mask for me is the amount of air that is vented out of it and would blow my wife out of bed. Also leaks like crazy if I don't sleep on my back no matter the amount of adjusting I do. It only has at most 7 hours of use on it and has all of the sizes, Petite, Small, Medium and Large. The medium pillow is the one that has been used for just a few hours at the sleep titration plus maybe 30-45 mins at home to see how it would work for me. It has been thoroughly cleaned with cpap mask wipes and in warm water with dish detergent. Is there anyone here that is interested in buying this mask. I don't even know if it is worth asking if anyone wants to buy it, but it looked like online that it is still for sell new in some places. It could be discontinued I don't know. So if anyone is interested let me know. Also if you have used it let me know your experience with it! If posting something like this is against any rules I am sorry. Please let me know. I am very new here.

I have an Optilife that I use for reading in bed once or twice a week. Then, I switch to the Mirage Activa before going to sleep (usually). The Optilife leaves a lot to be desired, but it's good enough for reading in bed. It gets knocked out of position too easily, causing a noisy leak. I think it's discontinued.

I hadn't heard about any official discontinuing of the Optilife but it looks like cpap.com isn't stocking it any more. Respironics may have stopped making it. It has been around a long time. I used it during my titration sleep study too which was over 6 years ago. I don't know how long it had been out there before I started therapy.
Wouldn't surprise me that it is being discontinued though so if someone uses this mask....better stock up.

I hated it. They sent me home with it after the titration study but I opted for the Swift LT from the DME (it was the latest and greatest at the time long before the P10 or Swift FX) back then and never used the Optilife again and ended up giving it away.
I had a horrible time with the OptiLife headgear in general. Way too much "stuff" on my face.
