selling my old CPAP machine

Post by rdkusk » Fri Aug 28, 2015 9:27 am

Greetings,

I am a new user to the forum so I apologize if this not an acceptable post. I just received a new CPAP machine and I am interested in selling my old one to someone who may not have insurance to purchase a machine for them and needs therapy. Can someone give me guidance on a website or avenue to do this? I am selling a philips resperonics system one.

Regards,

Richard

What model number? Model number is a 3 digit number on the bottom of the blower...may have DS or REF in front or behind it. On the same sticker with the model number is an 8 digit number which is the manufacture date in year/month/day format...can you tell us that number?
How many hours on the machine?

Depending on model number I might know someone who could use it.

Pugsy

The model number is REF 560P. The 8 digit number is 20120525. I used it for approximately 3 years for an average of 6-7 hours nightly.

3 years at 6 hour average is close to 7,000 hours.
You can verify the machine run hours in the clinical setup info menu.

The hours of use is quite high so it really affects the value of the machine.
What machine did you get now to replace it? Another 560 or a different brand?

My suggestion would be to keep the machine for a back up machine if you don't already have a back up machine.

But if you already have a back up machine and just want to help someone out...you can of course offer it for sale....either here on the forum or some place like craigslist.
If you are wanting to sell it...are you also selling the humidifier (assuming you used one) and is the humidifier heated hose capable already? If uncertain about that status the heated hose capable humidifiers use an 80 watt power supply instead of 60 watt (stated on the power brick) and the lid had a little electric slot on the swivel thing.

Keep it for a backup. If you don't already have a backup machine, relying on only one machine is really pressing your luck.
