Re: Reposting WW2's Post
I did not see the deleted post, so this is NOT a comment on its content nor is it about the poster..
A lot of posts seem to be made venting personal feelings and railing about perceived or real injustice carried out on this board. I personally consider all of this SPAM as it has nothing to do with CPAP and has more to do with calling out someone in "public" about what a rotten person they are and how "right" the poster is. I was thinking that this behavior was more like High School, but then again not really as I don't remember it from their.
Recently someone posted a comment about one of my posts and it seemed to me it was more about if I personally should have posted what I did and not so much about what was actually posted. They were very polite about it and they had every right to ask the question. I personally don't agree with their post, but who the heck am I that no one can question my motivation or appropriateness. I would have preferred a PM, but whatever.
Is there outright SPAM, of course. Are there posts are just personal and add nothing to the CPAP conversation, of course. Do we all sometimes just have a bad day and post something that we should not have, of course.
Years ago on a woodworking forum someone posted about "big oil" and how they were satin, well fine, maybe, but this was a woodworking forum and I was having a bad day and did not like being told I was stupid for not seeing the "truth". I fired off everything I had at the "stupid, idiot" that made the post. Well that post was "suspended" pending talking to me, a PM was received asking me if "I was having a bad day?". I sheepishly said that yes indeed I was and the post was deleted. The offending post was moved to the "off topic" forum that is much more lose about subjects and the world went on, instead of generating pages and pages of broadsides.
off the soapbox for now and peace to all

Re: Reposting WW2's Post
The posts caught by the "foe" button aren't just deleted, there's a placeholder post put in the thread that says that there's a post by someone in your "foe" list, and gives you a chance to read the post anyways by clicking on it.
Nice facility to get rid of the postings from people who only post to get people arguing. Not very many, but not seeing their posts unless you feel like being annoyed is good to be able to do.

Yeah....that's what I do. Some days I feel like being annoyed and some days I don't.RogerSC wrote:The posts caught by the "foe" button aren't just deleted, there's a placeholder post put in the thread that says that there's a post by someone in your "foe" list, and gives you a chance to read the post anyways by clicking on it.

I also use it for people who simply piss me off so I don't have to waste my time reading something from someone who I wouldn't bother to try to respond to anyway because they burned the bridge with me usually with a shitty attitude towards me. Or at least I perceived it as being shitty and that's a good enough reason in my book. I would rather ignore than inflame. Unfortunately it seems a lot of people prefer to inflame but I can't do anything about what someone else does except maybe simply choose to Foe them so that they don't annoy me.

Re: Reposting WW2's Post
But, if someone (or multiple someones) hadn't deleted the posts IN THE FIRST PLACE, someone else wouldn't have felt the need to re-post them.palerider wrote:49er thinks we're all children, and has to play nanny, she can't mind her own business and let other people mind theirs... of course, you know thisnanwilson wrote:I don't get the point that you have to re-post someone else's deleted posts...... are they not capable of doing it themselves?
And, to nanwilson's question......."somebody" (or somebodies) keeps deleting various posts of the people they dislike or disagree with.......repeatedly.
I think it would be extremely ironic if the person(s) doing the deleting and/or complaining about the multiple usernames........are also some of the people with multiple usernames.
For what it's worth, I've figured/found out some of this, but am not going to divulge the usernames of the parties involved.
But, some of the self-righteous members who THINK they know who some of these people are......are WRONG......BIG TIME!!! You've been barking up the wrong trees and for the wrong reasons.

and who better to assume that everybody had multiple IDs than the person that's already abusing multiple IDs?
