Full face mask

Post by ~Q~ » Thu Aug 27, 2015 10:04 pm

I'm thinking about giving a full face mask a shot because I've noticed my mouth being open a fair bit recently. I've tried straps and what not in the past and I did not like them.

Right now I'm using the wisp and I just love how non-intrusive it is. The Airfit 10 seems like it borrows some of the design features of the Wisp, so I was looking at this one. The one concern I have is it looks like it might be difficult to get a good seal because the airfit doesn't have the same securing points that say a quattro has.

I'm just curious what those who use full face masks think.

Thanks,

I've never used a nasal mask, and frankly have never felt they would work for me.
But, of the several full face masks I've tried/used, the two that work for me are the ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face and the ResMed Quattro. The UMFF is the one I started with and use almost exclusively now. I used the Quattro periodically some years ago ( about 2007-2008 ) but it just didn't feel as well as the UMFF.

I use the Zzz-Mask Full Face CPAP Mask by Probasics.

I like that it does not have the forehead support, and more then anything else I like the price. Compared the price to Resmed masks this mask is half price, and the replacement cushions are about half also. The mask works well for me, but every one is different. I have high pressure settings of 23/19, and so far this mask serves me well.

I wish you well...

I use the resmed Quattro FF. I usually put it on after lying down, adjust the straps IF needed and turn on the air. I let it get to psi then turn on my side, if I feel any leaks I can tweak the top forehead adjuster...just a couple of clicks either way does it. I have no problem with this procedure...I tried the nasal things, couldn't stop leaks no matter what I did, even used the cream. I have tried quite a few masks but always went back to my Quattro...good luck finding yours.

The FF masks are a bit tricky at higher pressures, you will need to try a few different masks most likely. I started with the ResMed Airfit F10 but I had to fidget with the mask throughout the night and always had to tighten the mask to the point of it being uncomfortable. I am currently using the F&P Simplus which works better for me but I still don't find it that comfortable. What does help is to clean the mask daily, clean your face before bed and make sure to shave daily if you can.

I tried most of the full face masks available and the ONLY one that worked for me was (and continues to be) the F&P 431. A lot of people here HATE that mask (and some have tried to convince the board that it is an inferior mask all the way around) but it's the only one that works with my facial structure. Plus, it tends to hold up well under my higher pressures.
