I think there was a short power outage during the night last night, especially because I remember an incident when I could not take a breath (more than one). I thought it was part of a dream, but in retrospect think it was actually the CPAP shutting down during the power out that partially woke me.
I'm assuming this power out was why there was no data for last night in Sleepyhead despite what is reported as a successful import. Probably due to files not closing properly? I'm surprised that the machine powering back on did not trigger Sleepyhead to take care of its files. I notice that there are files time stamped with the time I turned the CPAP on when I went to bed. There was no complaint by the software during the import about corrupted files or anything else.
Am I wrong in my assumption? Would a battery backup UPS be sufficient to cover this type of situation?

Re: Sleepyhead and power failure
If the outage was for only a short period, then one of the computer UPS systems would work just fine. I have one the is good for a couple of hours for my machine and prevents loss of data as well as loss of my breathing support just fine.IreneN wrote: ... It will also protect against very short power variations that might cause your CPAP to lose data.

sometimes sleepyhead still has problems with aborted, short sessions...
you could zip up your card, and send a note to jedimark about it, he might want the data, to see if he can make the handling better.

WTH??? In the bigger scheme of things, what is an occasional missed night of SH? Wouldn't a walk on the beach put you waaaay ahead?IreneN wrote:Sleepyhead. Would a battery backup UPS be sufficient to cover this type of situation?
Re: Sleepyhead and power failure
Good to know. I was wondering about this because i remember posts discussing special battery requirements. I have a spare UPS I could use for this.JDS74 wrote:If the outage was for only a short period, then one of the computer UPS systems would work just fine. Re: Sleepyhead and power failure
Unfortunately, I didn't have a spare card handy, so when my machine asked to reformat, I said OK. I would have skipped another night of data, but my numbers have been weird lately, and I wanted to see if there was an issue I could spot.palerider wrote:sometimes sleepyhead still has problems with aborted, short sessions...

Re: Sleepyhead and power failure
We get LOTS of power failures out here, long and short. The question was meant to address power failures in general, not a lost night of data.Chevie wrote:WTH??? Maybe you should join me in that beach walk . You know, in the bigger scheme, etc...
