I posted a few months back about how it's been three months and I still feel as exhausted but I didn't have sleepyhead, so I'm not sure anyone knew how to help me. Few facts. 26 year old female. short and obese. b12 and iron levels normal. no diabetes. no high blood pressure. no weird medicines. unsure about thyroid issues, but a few years ago my numbers were perfect. I've had sleep apnea for years but am just now treating it. i need to lose a lot of weight, but the issue is I'm so exhausted that attempting to eat health (cook at home) and work out seem out of the question after 8 hours at work and an hour of school work. And I'm not talking about that I'm just "tired", im talking like my brain won't function, and I can't stay awake and it's ruining my life.
Anyways, i'm insanely "compliant" with my mask. It's second nature, and most of the time, I wouldnt even be able to fall asleep without it. It's not about comfort, etc.
I finally got sleepyhead and I'm so overwhelmed by how much info there is. I've googled and researched how to read my results but I feel like I'm getting no where. This is part of because i'm so exhausted, I can't even think long enough to figure out the software. I picked some random days over the last few weeks to post. Is anyone seeing anything out of the ordinary? Do we think it's unrelated to my cpap and my apnea that i'm this tired, based on my sleepyhead data?
Yes, i've seen a "dietician" as someone has once asked me. I know I need to lose weight. And I know HOW to lose weight. I could write books on how to lose weight. but it's kind of impossible to do when I'm so exhausted.
This forum is wonderful and so are all of you for always helping us dummies who can't figure anything out.

Re: HELP! almost more exhausted than before
My suggestion is to try straight pressure at about 10 cm. for a week or two and see how that works.
The pressure changes may be disturbing your sleep......bumping you out of needed sleep stages when your breathing changes.

Do you know how to do that? I always thought my machine was only auto. That would be great if I could try that!Wulfman... wrote:My suggestion is to try straight pressure at about 10 cm. for a week or two and see how that works.

Go to this link. Sometime back, I posted in text format the setup instructions for your machine.

There have been links posted where you can download the entire manual in .pdf format, but I don't happen to have it handy at the moment. I'll look further and post it if/when I find it.

Re: HELP! almost more exhausted than before
I agree with Den's recommendation to try straight pressure. I would go with a pressure of 10 and keep aflex at the same setting as you have now.
For your machine, it's better to keep it in APAP mode and set pressure max and min to same level (10 in your case). This will give you more data than changing to Cpap mode on your machine.
You can request the clinical manual for your machine by links pasted in the previous responses.
I was in a similar situation like you (AHI less than 1 every time but not feeling good). After taking Den's advice to go to straight pressure, it has made a huge change in how I feel in the Mornings.
