Side Sleeper Pillows
Hello!
Long time CPAP user here, well, 2+ years and I've never had a good night sleep until just recently. I had another sleep study done and it was found out that my pressure was way too low. This was the reason I would take the mask off just as I was falling asleep. Now, I can darn near sleep through the night and this has been a life changer.....damn near cried that first morning as I woke up NOT feeling fatigued!!!
Anywho.........my request is asking all you CPAP experts a pillow for a side sleeper that you recommend?
Thanks!

Re: Side Sleeper Pillows
I'm a side sleeper, but I don't use a special pillow... I've used an ordinary TempurPedic pillow for a number of years, and when I started CPAP in Feb. 2013, continued using it successfully. It seems to naturally make room for my full-face mask. You might try a cheaper knock-off memory foam pillow to see if that works for you.

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

I think you can get Pap Pillows(.com) thru Cpap.com, and/or make your own if you're good at that kind of thing.

The cut-out cpap pillows are designed to accommodate nasal or full face cushion masks.
I have found that nasal pillow masks work well with a regular pillow.
Mine has a quilted shell and combination buckwheat and shredded foam fill.

Re: Side Sleeper Pillows
They've got a decent, relatively firm memory foam pillow at Costco called Novaform-comfort curve for approx. $20-$25, which is about $40-$50 cheaper than a "PAP' pillow. I left mine as-is but, I think it could be cut to shape it like one of the $70 ones. Made in the USA too ! (they can be found on ebay even cheaper)

I was a die hard feather pillow fan all my life but then I switched to the pillow CF links to in her post. It is beyond amazing! I am a side sleeper too.chunkyfrog wrote:The cut-out cpap pillows are designed to accommodate nasal or full face cushion masks.

Morbius, are you bored?
Re: Side Sleeper Pillows
Sounds like you're getting lots of recommendations. I'm a side sleeper too, move around a lot when I'm sleeping, and use a "large" size neck pillow from Tempurpedic. Not the Tempurpedic side pillow, that didn't work for me, but the neck pillow works great with the Swift FX for me. I used the papillow from cpap.com for a couple of years, and that worked well, too. But of all the pillows that I've tried, the Tempurpedic works best for me.

I just place my head near the edge of a very regular (thin and soft) pillow and let the mask extend out over the edge.acctingman wrote:a pillow for a side sleeper
Don't forget to put a small pillow between your knees.

Choker owns a small pillow company. He tries to work that advice into most of the threads here.spmccord wrote:In case they get tired??The Choker wrote:

I used the Tempurpedic for years which worked great. Then I bought the Regenisis buckwheat hull pillow from Pur-Sleep. Now the bed is full of them. Husband has one too, we both have cervical ones too for reading, and an extra millet hull cervical pillow that I use between the girls.
I just checked the Pur-sleep site and don't see the pillow now.

Re: Side Sleeper Pillows
I think she meant full of the pillows, not loose hulls.
Of course, if your dog likes to chew on the bedding, can't promise anything.
The pillow between your knees can help relieve hip pain.
Of course, a pillow can be placed under the hips for other reasons.

Haha, yes I did mean bed of pillows not hulls; not that there aren't a few hulls here and there when I change pillow cases. The first time I viewed escapee hulls without my contacts in, I screeched bringing the hubby running. I thought it was bugs.
Re: Side Sleeper Pillows
I tried the Regenisis buckwheat hull pillow, too. It turned out that it was just too hard for me. The Tempurpedic neck pillow is "just right" for me *smile*.
I guess that's why they make more than one kind of pillow, pillows are definitely a personal choice. One size doesn't fit all *smile*.
