Are we allowed to sell used equipment here?

Post by cherylann » Sun Aug 02, 2015 10:31 am

I know I have seen posts where other people did, but before I post my own, I want to make sure it is allowed and post will not be rejected.

Yes, it's allowed (and practiced often).
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. ;))

PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

As a side note: It's considered bad form to put up a long 'laundry list' of stuff you're selling (especially CPAP machines)... that's what Craigslist is for. For masks and related stuff check out the thread The Great Pillow Exchange. It's targeted to people looking for good mask deals.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

And it kind of worries us when someone just joins to sell stuff.
(Like, did they get kicked off of Craig's list?"

I know, dear. I read the sign-up dates. I noticed Cherylann's charming avatar years ago.

I just joined this forum a couple of days ago after one of my customers from Craigslist told me about it. I just started shipping after only selling locally for a while, so I decided I would join here to get a bit more exposure. I can see how people would be cautious from buying from someone who's new on here, but I'm hoping after one or two transactions people can be assured I'm not here to rip people off. I hope I did't offend anyone with my previous post that listed the items I have for sale. Anyway, I'm also an RT so I'm hoping I may be able to help by answering some of the questions people have on here too. So, let me know if you guys need anything

Can't see any of your other posts so perhaps they were removed?

This is a support forum though, not a sales forum. Craigslist is a good place to sell things. Note that this forum is supported by CPAP.com a commercial CPAP licensed authorized seller and they will if you abuse attempting to sell here they can and have in the past tell you to stop as it can cause them issues with their vendors.

Most of the sales here are from established users selling their own personal used equipment after getting replacement new equipment not as a marketplace.
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database

specifically, what I've been told by Carolyn, essentially, is that they don't mind us helping each other out, but they will not permit someone to use this forum as an advertising/sales addition to that person's business...

that's why some people have been told not to post, but folks like stlmark, or grayghost4, and others who come across machines here and there are ok here, because it's not their business.

yeah they removed all of my previous posts. It's not like this is my business or full time job, I just come across machines and masks through work sometimes. I also have some relationships with some DMEs and sales reps that I can use sometimes. Usually I will buy stuff thats being liquidated, so I may have lots of masks and machines at once. I just figured that with my prices being so low it would help some people on here who are without insurance or looking for second machines. I guess maybe that the owners of the forum probably were not too happy that my prices were way cheaper than theirs on new machines, so thats understandable

you did come on pretty strong, talking about having lots of brand new machines lots of masks, lots of posts, etc.

a low key approach is much better. it looked to me, (my impression only, which really means nothing) that you were a supplier, looking to add free advertising and revenue to your business... you certainly wouldn't have been the first.

Yeah you're probably right .
