Re: Can a pressure increase cause hypopneas?

Your body would not reject oxygen... you're on a completely wrong road with assumptions and someone else who understands your machine should come by soon to help out. I didn't assume anything. And your body does in a way reject oxygen by having a central event from too much pressure but I haven't b...

I havent changed anything other than my pressure and it is around the same time that my hypopneas increased consistently. My ahi was raised by about 5 when before my ahi was lower. ...

A national campaign that it can happen to not only fat people can help. Some people think its normal to feel the way they do sadly because it is all they have ever felt

Can a pressure increase cause hypopneas?

I increased my PSMin pressure and found that my AHI increased and I had alot more hypopneas than before. This is well about 1 week worth of data. Edit: Do...

Re: Does mouth breathing get reduced with CPAP?

Is it possible that in some instances mouth breathing occurs as a survival tactic? Basically your brain senses that something isn't right (ex. your throat starts to collapse) and then your brain unconsciously tells your mouth to open up to breathe (because it may think the nasal airways are not suff...

Can someone explain the functionality ASV settings?

I was wondering if any can explain on a 'basic easy to understand' level about if EPAP helps with Centrals or Obstructive? If PSMin helps with Centrals or Obstructive? When would be a good time to change the BPM 'Auto' setting. For instance how would the person need to breathe in order to change the...

Does mouth breathing get reduced with CPAP?

Hey I was wondering if using CPAP would lower mouth breathing. Many people snore with their mouths opened so does that mean they should be guided towards a full face mask, or does CPAP sometimes help prevent mouth breathing?

Re: What causes us to mouth breathe?

I would have thought that breathing through the nose is more natural because it humidifies your airway or something similar to that. If I try breathing through my mouth for a while it will be very dry

Can I lower my pressure after my weight loss?

I am new to this but I have been a guest for quite some time reading a few posts here and there. I am overweight and currently sit at a 12cm pressure setting. I use a CPAP and I was wondering if there is a chance that once I lose my weight, is there a chance that I would no longer need my CPAP and w...
