The Dream Station is a new PR unit having a limited launch in the US. I believe it is an auto unit but have the feeling it will be cutting-corners device.

When asking your DME provider about your equipment, you need to know specifically if it will provide AHI. If they are wishy-washy, the question of whether the machine is capable of "reporting residual AHI" is the deal breaker.

With an AHI of 202 (you win--highest I've ever heard of!!!) You should settle for nothing less than the latest fully EFFICACY data capable APAP. Someone (hopefully) will come along to tell you what the model number is. I think it's 560, but not positive.

Find out what the model number is an INSIST on checking for the model number on the unit. Don't waste your breath asking for "data capable" for a few reasons:
1. DME's claim ALL machines are "data capable" and they are right, but for some, the only data the machines are capable of reporting is compliance. You MUST have efficacy data to make sure your serious and severe apnea is being adequately treated.
2. DME's think WE don't need access to our own data, so they don't think that we need EFFICACY data. They are wrong. Even if we choose not to access our own data, we hope our doctors will look at it to determine the efficacy of our treatment and help us optimize it.
3. DME's make more money on lesser capable machines, so they have a built in conflict of interest with us from the start.

I never heard of a Dream Station and I would be wary of it. My guess is it's yet another device they can charge for--another way to charge you for sending your own data to the DME and then to the insurance company. But I could be wrong.
I don't know where you get your information from, but not all DME's make these claims. I will tell a patient what machines to avoid. You seem to have a jaded view on DME companies.
The dream station is respironics new machine, and won't be out until the end of the year-ish.

FYI, the Dreamstyle is a new Phillips Respironics machine on the market. It is not on the company website, yet.
