Ortenzio
Ortenzio
I have recurring problems with eye infections and dry eyes. I'm presently using a Fisher & Paykel Flexi-Fit face mask. Air leaks from the tiny exhaust holes causing me to have dry eyes. I heard that a full face mask would be a better choice to avoid this problem. Would this not also cause eye problems? Any ideas or experience anyone?
Re: Ortenzio
You might try mask liners... Liners like padacheek.com or RemZzz's that really helped me plug up all leaks. It is non-issue now for me.
I wish you well...

F-P uses the name Flexi-Fit for several of their masks. Could you indicate the exact model?Nananine2 wrote:I have recurring problems with eye infections and dry eyes. For example, 405, 407, 431, 432 are all called Flexi-Fit.

Re: Ortenzio
I think it's far more likely that the air is coming from the bridge of nose area under the cushion rather than the CO2 vent holes... and Padacheek liners would help, as would a sleep mask like the Quartz (you'll have to google that). It would be very unusual for the vent hole air output to reach your eyes.

Have you seen your ophthalmologist yet?
You might also check the Dry Eye Shop (online) for a few solutions.

Re: Ortenzio
Are you certain the dry eyes are caused by air from the vent holes? Have you tried wearing one of those sleep masks to keep the air out of your eyes? I've seen a few people post about air going up through the ducts that run from the nose to the eyes. If there's any chance that's your issue, the discussion would be different.

Re: Ortenzio
If you're asking about a total face mask instead of a full face mask, then the total face mask does not blow air into your eyes. The mask encloses your entire face and the air inside the mask feels no differently than wearing no mask at all, even though this doesn't seem possible.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
