Re: Pad a cheeck AirFit/AirTouch F20 mask liners?

I have been using the F20 since they first came out with it. I think it was 3 or 4 years ago; prior to that I used the F10. I am currently on my first replacement one. I use Remzz style liners. I started with Remzz brand, washed them daily for a couple weeks before replacing with a new one. Then I f...

Re: Still tired, I have data.

I'm still tired, but in the 5 years since I was diagnosed with OSA, I have been sleeping better and don't get up as often during the night. I do have fibromyalgia so that complicates things in the "tired" department. The pulse oximeter will help you get a handle on whether you might have OSA. The on...

Re: New guy here. Why did they discourage a FF?

I find that odd. At my sleep study, they had me try on first a nasal mask, and I didn't like it so then he put a FF on me. I liked it better. My RX was quite detailed, and requested "mask of choice" so nobody told me what to get. I looked at several, picked the Quattro Air, and stayed with it until ...

Re: What to do during power outages

By now maybe your storm is over...but I will share an experience I had a year ago or so that readers can be reassured when this happens. I was on a plane back to Minnesota, landed at MSP and took a shuttle 90 miles to my home. Carried the machine onto the shuttle, and when I got home I didn't have i...

Re: RemZzzs mask liner fail - worse than no cpap at all

I started with a medium Quattro Air; decided it was too big so tried a small. That small one ended up in my mouth all the time, so I went back to the medium. After a week of experimentation, I found the right fit with my headgear, and the medium turned out to be the right size. One of the things tha...

Re: A newbie is ready to throw in the towel

I was there once too... I had a tough time with leaks, or, as I call them, face farts because that is what they sound like to me. I discovered a few things within a few weeks. 1. If my headgear was too loose or too tight, leaks would occur. 2. To get a good seal, I shouldn't have an oily face so I w...

Re: I don't know what's wrong with me and neither do the doctors

I have OSA, was diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago with apnea of 11. Below 8, the docs don't usually prescribe CPAP. My AHI usually registers 2 or less now. Although my sleep quality is much improved, I continue to be tired a lot as I have fibromyalgia. I'd suggest seeing your Primary Care doc if you haven't...

Re: Just couldn't take it last night!!

Every night, I put my mask on, fire up the machine, and hunt for the sweet spot of mask on face where there's no leaks - especially squirting me in the eye. Then I try to find the one perfect position to sleep in - comfortable (relatively speaking!) without pushing the mask out of position, and fre...

Re: Putting on masks?

I have a lot of arthritis in my hands, so I know what you're dealing with. I use the F10 FF... very easy to fasten, unlike my bras. which I can't hook at all so I keep them hooked and pull them on like a t-shirt. I used to have Quattro Air FF, which was also easy for me with the same type of hooks.

Re: How long from sleep study to getting Cpap?

I was fortunate enough that my Dr. meets patients when you wake up from sleep study and gives you instant results. I got my machine the same day masks and all. It was about 2 weeks from intial appointment to sleep study. So 2 weeks in all. Until then I used oxygen at night just to be safe I had pre...

Re: Too much air

If your mouth is closed when you sleep, your cheeks usually do puff up regardless of your pressure; if your mouth is open, air will go out your mouth instead of your windpipe, which is where it needs to go. My mouth is usually open, so I use a full face mask. When my mouth does happen to close, my c...

Re: Need help for my CPAP room

Well, if esel is not writing satire, he needs to know that sealing the room, drilling holes to the next room, is not necessary. It works right once you are masked up, the machine is on, and set to the right pressures, etc. My bedroom is not sealed, the door is open all day and all night, and has wor...

Re: How High Do You Fill You CPAP's Water Tank?

In the winter I fill it to the water line and it's empty by morning ... Midwest winters are very dry and the amount of water used depends on ambient humidity. In the humid summers it's another story, hardly any water is needed so I can go for about 4 nights without running out, so I usually fill it ...

Re: somnopose

OK ... I googled this and it's apparently an Android app to measure your sleep positions. Doesn't look to me like this has anything to do with apnea or cpap machines. Sleepyhead measures AHI (apnea/hypopnea index) and things related to apnea but doesn't measure sleep position. I think this app is in...
