Finding the right Full Face Mask

Post by kickin' in ky » Tue Jul 07, 2015 6:27 am

I am new to the CPAP world and doing fine with full face mask and chin strap (strap moves a bit much). However, I am having trouble getting a mask that fits well without having to over tighten the straps. I have the Quattro Air Medium and Quattro Air for her Small. Medium is definitely too large with too many leaks. Small is a little too small. Any suggestions on a mask that is sized in between these two?

You might look into liners - Padacheek.com.

I had the same problem when I started with Quattro Air. When I discovered mask liners, that was a game changer! Several options; Pad-A-Cheek at http://www.padacheek.com for liners and strap pads, RemZzzs from your DME or our forum sponsors at https://www.cpap.com, or DIY from a pattern you can find by googling "diy cotton cpap mask liners" or similar wording, and cutting them from old t-shirts (I bought a very large t-shirt at Goodwill). When I switched to the F10, which uses the same cushion, I continued to use them. These days I hardly ever get into large leak territory and almost never get to the red line in sleepyhead (20l)

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

I had the medium too big small too small problem with the Quattro (Made me crazy because it is such a godo mask) and tried Fisher and Paykel masks, which seem to be sized differently and found one that fit. Mask liner and an anti-leak strap were necessary to make it work. Thank god for Pad-a-Cheek!

I see that now you're using a nasal mask like my. Recently, I have stopped using the chinstrap because it's uncomfortable. The S9 Autoset that I use managed to treat my events in spite of the high mouth leaks:
