How to find AHI readout on ResMed AirSense 10?

Post by inkblot » Thu Dec 11, 2014 4:46 pm

My brother, newly diagnosed and brand new to all this, just received a ResMed AirSense 10. He does not know how to find his AHI readabout, and since he's on the opposite coast from me, I can't help him. I've had him download SleepHead, but is there not a quick way to find abbreviated information from the machine itself? The little smiley face that says nothing at all is driving him mad. Can anyone help?

First you need to confirm that his machine will even show the AHI....
Only the AirSense 10 Elite, AutoSet and the AutoSet for Her will show the AHI (among other data)
If his machine is just the AirSense 10 CPAP machine...nothing there for it to show except hours of use.

If he does have a full data machine....
I think there is a setting in the clinical setup menu that needs to be changed as the default from factory probably is for hours of use only.
Page 14 in the provider/clinician manual explains how to get into the clinical setup menu.
In the clinical setup menu is a parameter called "essentials" and I think that has to be set to "Plus" instead of "On" see page 17 in the manual.
Page 18 explains how to view the report which is where the AHI is shown once the machine has had that setting in the setup menu altered show that it shows more than just the basics.

To get the manual...go here and request it

If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

Thank you, Pugsy. His machine is an AutoSet, and I've sent him the information about ordering the manual. It's disturbing to think that ResMed should expect its cpap users not to want this information.

Pugsy is correct (as usual).....the default from ResMed has "Essentials" set to on.....it needs to be set to "Plus" in the clinician's setup menu. To get into that menu push and hold both the round button and the home button silmiltaneously for about three seconds, you will then have access to the clinician's menu, then go into settings or options and look for Essentials.....select with round button and change Essentials from on to Plus. That will give the patient the ability to see much more data on the sleep report in the morning including AHI.

I agree with you, manufacturers should not Dumb Down these machines by default....drives me Nutz! They think the users aren't inteligent enough to handle increased data and settings.....Bunk

Set up an myair e-mail account( there web site I can't attach per board rules you can google it.) then you can quickly load onto it and get an non-techy report, for deeper information down load Sleepyhead or ResScan 5.1 and download your SD card to your computer. Some my complain about how simple myair is but my guess was that's there intension the SD card or the Clinical version is where more detailed information is.

My brother has just set up his MyAir account and can read his numbers (which are still a little higher than I could wish them to be, but that's another problem). I've written him about how to adjust what shows up on the screen of his cpap machine, but I'm not sure he's done that yet.

Thanks to everybody for all the helpful ideas!

I know your post is a year old but on the my air dashboard the event chart is interactive and if you hover over each days bar with your mouse if on a pc or with your finger on a tablet it will give you the AHI for each night.
