hose hanger options for multiple hotels

Post by Cardsfan » Thu Jun 18, 2015 7:05 am

At home, I drape the long hose over the headboard. Works well. We are getting ready to spend some time on the road. I will be in different hotels for almost every night of the long trip. So I need a hose hanger system that is easily moved and can set up quickly in the next hotel. And will work with most of the different headboards I come across.
Thanks
I have my eye on Hose Boss by Pur sleep.

I need to put mine in my cpap bag.
Once I forgot it and had to use dollar store package tape and hair scrunchies.

Search Amazon.com for "CPAP Hose Hanger" and you will see several choices.
I use the folding one in the case and it fits in my CPAP bag.
Our host sells one that is also suitable.

The one with the retracting reels can be attached to one of those removeable hangers that are made by 3M, I think. It would be quite small and easily transportable.

Ill try to find the link later but one regular traveller uses one of those 3m Command hangers and a lanyard with hooks on both ends. He has a cozy over his hose. Sticks the Hook hanger on the headboard or wall and then removes it when he is leaving.

Here is the retractible hanger DIY link.

It is very similar to one on Amazon.

I bought one very similar to the one offered by cpap.com. You slide the foot between the mattress and the box springs and it comes with a travel bag. Cpap's looks a little better constructed than the one I bought from Amazon. Not knowing if I was going to like it, I bought on price alone.

Here is the link to the one on CPAP.com:

I think the Hose Boss works really well.

Thanks, I just ordered from our host. I'm going to try the Cozy Hoze Boss. based on low price and it doesn't look like hospital equipment. They have free shipping right now for fathers day.

Yes, the Cozy Hose Boss by Pur-Sleep sold by CPAP.com now is a good one. I have used mine both at home and when I go on trips for years. The 3M Command hangers usually come off the wall without any trace, but be sure to follow the directions for removal- the adhesive strip doesn't come off cleanly if you don't follow directions explicitly for removal. I just buy an extra card of Command hangers before I go away, in case I can't get the adhesive strip to stick correctly on the next wall at the next hotel or relative's house. And also remember to pack a LONG power strip/surge protector because sometimes hotels don't have very many electrical outlets beside the bed. I have been in hotels where I was glad to have my 12 foot power strip/surge protector, without an inch to spare. Also, when you leave your hotel in the AM to see the sights & have fun on your vacation if remaining at one hotel overnight, remove your humidifier tub from the machine and place it in a drawer or closet to protect against the maid knocking the machine over with the water in it when she dusts/vacuums/makes the bed. That could ruin your vacation if you had to find time to buy a new machine while on vacation AND pony up the money while out of town. Have fun and stay safe!

I don't use a hose hanger either at home or when I travel. At home my machine is positioned such that I don't get rainout. As for hotels, all that I've stayed in have had nightstands that I could use either by setting on top, or putting it in the drawer. The Holiday Inn I stayed in brought a folding chair in for me to put the machine on, and that was because I couldn't access an outlet, and my extension cord wasn't quite long enough to reach an outlet. Most hotels now seem to have outlets on the lamps, so extension cords are not as necessary as they once were.

I made one out of PVC pipe. I have 2, one for the house that is glued, and one that I made that can be taken apart and put into a suitcase.

I have never had a issue at the hotel, they take it out from under the mattress and make the bed. Sometimes they even put it back!

I can't find it any more, but there was once a youTube video where a guy chained together rubber bands and could use them to hang his hose from almost any surface--e.g. a picture frame on the wall over the bed (those are usually bolted down so people don't steal the "artwork"), the headboard, a wall mounted lamp, even two chairs stacked together beside the bed.

So that's what I have--a bunch of rubber bands plus a couple of elastic headbands you can also chain together (those work great!).

9 times out of 10 there has been a wall mounted lamp beside the bed and I've been able to hook my elastic bands around the vertical support for a usable hose hanger.

I'm mostly using the Wisp now, and I found that it's not crucial that the hose be hung for that one, so it's become a non-issue.
