This is what I am looking at as well. I don't get my appointment with the Tech until July 14th, but I have been researching online and reading through this site and it seems like an optimal machine. I have also heard how the DME can try and push the machine they would like on you, so you have to be firm in what you want. I guess the Dr writes the script...so I will be seeing mine next week and will tell her then what I want. After all its our money and our health....we should get what we want!

Have you been comparing machines as well? If so, what have you found?

Thanks.
I saw this one. PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP Machine with A-Flex It seems to have a lot of the same data features but it doesn't include a humidifier and the A10 does so it would wind up being the same price.

doesn't keep 'em from guessing at it.

I don't know about this. RERAs and spontaneous arousals are two different things in the glossary I have.

The machine can't sense a RERA because you are not wearing abdominal belts to measure respiratory effort and there is no EEG to detect arousals.
You are correct. RERAs are respiratory problems. Arousals are just going from a deep stage sleep back to a lower stage. Sorry for the mix up!

All I know is my insurance pays 80% of whatever I end up getting. I have already looked into it.

See what happens at the meeting.

Thanks!

I do know with my insurance I did have to pay an "upcharge" of $150 to the DME to get the ResMed Airsense 10, I guess they had a dollar amount they would cover but the DME did not have a problem giving me what I wanted but I would not have accepted anything else. Definitely be firm with them and tell them you will go to someone else.
I'll bet your DME told you that and not your insurance carrier. In most cases insurance companies do not allow in network providers to charge an "up charge"'. The DME "gotcha".

Possible but I will check, I only say possible because my niece works there as a pharmacy tech so I don't think they would screw me but I will check into it, thanks!

I am pretty new to this, I have the AirSense 10 but not the for her and for some reason mine does show the RERA's on the sleepyhead report. I do not know if their is a difference in price. I have read good things on this site about that machine (the for her). It is also "prettier". I personally don't care about the looks. I also don't have the FFM mask that is for her and has a pink strap mine is blue. Good luck with your decision.
Also ignore the cranks!
Wow. I looked at their website and it says that the regular model doesn't have it. Interesting.

I know, a lot of the "old timers" asked me about that when they saw my sleepy head reports, they wanted to be sure I didn't have the "for her" machine but I don't.

Where did you purchase your machine from?

From a DME in a small local pharmacy where my niece is a pharmacy tech. I went thru my insurance.
