I have never had the tiny vent holes on the P10 clog up with anything....been using that mask for almost a year and a half.....and those of you who know me....I don't clean anything very often...much less the mask frame where the vent holes are.
I don't find the P10 to be any more "high maintenance" than any of the other nasal pillow masks. I didn't wash any of them with great frequency either.

Now I do use a heated hose and with that heated hose comes the reduction in chance for condensation in the mask so there's a reduction in the chance of the vent holes getting blocked by condensation.
That's a lot better than the Swift FX and the cold shower when the condensation got expelled out the vent holes.
That cold mist was sure annoying.

In 8 months of use I also have never had a problem with the vent holes getting clogged. I just occasionally take it apart and wash it in soapy water by hand and rinse. No scrubbing with a brush needed yet. I have had my humidifier set too high and had mucus drainage into the pillows that required a quick wash, but nothing routine that would clog the vent.

from what I've read and experienced, the p10 mesh experience varies.

before I had one, I read about a guy who had his block up totally, from his reports, it had a layer of something on it, and wasn't passing any air, he said that his DME said they'd heard reports of the same thing.

a scrub with hot water and a soapy toothbrush took care of it, and the mesh didn't look as 'plastic coated' or something, (descriptions were a bit vague).

there's three in use here on various heads, the oldest from last june, and it has been washed once, maybe twice (ever get tired of nagging someone to do something? ). I just examined it closely and the mesh looks a tad *dusty* but that's it, not blocked at all... mine, which probably hasn't had it's frame washed in a couple months looks the same, minus the dustyish look. the third one hasn't been in service that long.

nobody here uses humidity normally, either dry, or detached humidifier. however, pugsy is part swamp monster, so that one data point implies that it's not the added humidity.

maybe if more people report their experiences with the p10, and clogging, and what their environment is, we could put together a picture?

Why?

I do wash my stuff when I think about it and I am in the mood...just don't think about it or get in the mood very often.
No bugs, no visible signs of dirt or debri, leak line...heck night before last the worst excess leak I had was 5 L/min briefly...pretty damn good for me. I haven't been ill lately so not much chance of reintroducing some sort of virus or germ. No snotty nose to mess up the nasal pillows. Don't even use Lansinoh anymore to gunk things up.

Why would I want to mess up a good thing by cleaning it?
What would I gain? Peace of mind? There's nothing wrong with my peach of mind right now. My stuff doesn't get all that dirty.

Oh....I never said that I never washed my stuff...I just said I wasn't a real stickler for strict cleaning routines.
If you all as in (all of you and not just Papit) roll your eyes at my lack of routine....well hey...that's no different than me rolling my eyes when someone incorporates a routine that seems excessively anal to me. Each to their own.

I got better things to do with my time right now.
Gotta go find a swamp for this monster to play in.
Was going strawberry picking but they are closed today....crap...reopen at 7 AM tomorrow...last thing I wanted to do was get up that early on the big day but if I don't all the good big juicy ones will be gone and I will be left sweating in the mid day sun for small berries...more work...less fun. Sigh...guess I have to get up early tomorrow.
Gotta get the swelling down in my left knee though...the aliens again...left knew is all swollen and didn't do a damn thing that I can remember.

look for teeth and claw marks, remember they were masquerading as cats over the winter... or maybe mind controlling the cats.

Your mind's just peachy. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. We were almost twins. My birthday was the 16th. Oh shucks, that means I'm 3 days older.

I have been looking but this time to outward evidence of abuse to the knee. Getting worse as the day goes on and I have been resting the knee...doesn't bode well for strawberry picking tomorrow when things are getting worse instead of better. I would be willing to pay the extra to have them pick for me but there's a waiting list until next year for those.

Has anyone altered the P10 straps or are there custom straps? I feel that there would be less issues with movement if the split happened on the cheeks and not behind the hears. At least for me. I wear an extra small and finding hats that fit me is a challenge.

I have used the P10 with the same nasal pillows for the last 1.5 years. I have had no problems with the nasal pillows or the exhalation port. After reading this thread, I am glad I have never washed it!! I am in Maryland, which is quite humid in the summer and dry in the winter. I think I have the medium nasal pillows on the P10 are the best fit of any mask I've tried. I feel NO air leaking around my nose. However, I just got a new CPAP machine 2 days ago and it is saying I have a leak rate that sounds high to me, but I never paid attention to leak rates before. I don't know if the leak rate means I should try bigger nasal pillows for the P10 or that I am not keeping my mouth shut.

I was offered a Swift FX For Her nasal pillows mask at the DME 2 days ago. The difference with the FOR HER model is that there are straps that go around the ears, in addition to the other FX headgear, and it is pink. I have TMJ problems and wanted less straps on the sides, not more. The nasal pillows on a previous Swift mask I used collapsed in 2 weeks or so and the FX nasal pillows looked similarly flimsy to me. I have found the nasal pillows on the P10 to be durable (1.5 years on the same set of nasal pillows and headgear). I was newer to CPAP therapy and probably cleaned the nasal pillows frequently. It appears that there may be a correlation between how often you clean nasal pillows and how long they last.
