New Mask, New Problems

Post by Sleeping With The Enemy » Wed Feb 23, 2005 1:03 pm

I used the Activa last night and woke up with water bubbling in my mask.

I have not changed any settings on my machine, what is going on?

Did the temperature in your bed room change? If you are using a heated humidifier and the temperature in the room got colder than it had been on previous nites, this can cause condensation or rain out in the tubing and mask.

Heidi,

You have to either turn down the humidifier, turn up the heat in your room or get the Aussie heated hose.

The Activa collects a lot of rainout.

Amen, Amen and Amen!

My hose for the present time is dressed in my old fleece bathrobe. He looks so cute!!!!!

I am eventually going to get a heated hose.

I think the temp of my room may have gotten a little colder (old farm house).

I'll try to see if wrapping the hose in something helps.

I thought I was going to drown!!

I too have the Activa and I know exactly what you mean. When it happened to me (a number of times) I would wake up ripping my mask off and water spraying everywhere. It is not very pleasant for sure.

If you can wrap the hose in fleece and then put it under your covers, it does help.

JudyAnn! It's so nice to see your cute avatar back and your excellent, encouraging posts! Good advice for dealing with rainout if a heated hose isn't in the picture yet and temp in room can't be controlled very well.

Hey Rested Gal,

Thanks! I try to get on here a little, but I use my computer at work (still working full time until next Jan, when I go 3 days a week....will be 66 then) and sometimes I have to work!

I am getting a computer at home in March so I will be able to get on here more often. There are a lot of new people and it was not long ago (7 months) that I first found this forum. It was a blessing for sure as I didn't know a "hosehead" from a "gardenhose".

Everyone on this forum especially you has so much knowledge, support and tips......and laughs to share that I am glad I found it.

Take care,
Judy
