I have seen the "security failure" thing for connecting once so far today.

Note.....I have never lost a post/reply with this error. I just keep hitting "resend" and it finally takes and I check to make sure. Hasn't happened often that I have had to do that.

One of the lucky ones... I ctrl-A ctrl-C every post before I hit Send or you can rest assured it will disappear into the Luminiferous Aether.

Should be be found guilty, the judge should order a sleep test in for the pre-sentencing report. If he's acquitted, the judge would lack the authority to order this.

Kind of a ridiculous premise, no matter what the judge finds Trump couldn’t be ordered to do a sleep study. The only time in the US a person can be forced to undergo medical treatments is when they are physically or mentally incapacitated. . . .

At the time of the original posting, no verdict had been returned yet. Since then, he's been found guilty so it's no longer hypothetical.

A judge (or a probation officer empowered by the court) can compel medical tests upon conviction for various reasons. For instance, (1) they don't want to incarcerate somebody who cannot medically tolerate incarceration, (2) they want to know if he has a drug problem, (3) they want to know if he's mentally ill, and many other reasons.

A sleep study is likely warranted if a person falls asleep while driving and causing an accident. Easy to reach that conclusion on the part of the judge. But, they're not doctors and lack the training to make diagnoses and order tests. Insurance companies will honor medical tests ordered by a MD with specific reasons, judges not so much...

I don't believe he will be incarcerated, but there was a character in the first season of Orange is the new Black who supposedly had a CPAP machine. Although the prop people didn't do their homework, and it was an oxygen concentrator instead (which, incidentally, are REALLY noisy!!!).
