advise interrpretting data

Post by wolf911 » Fri May 29, 2015 6:45 am

I was wondering if someone could give me any advise on making adjustments to the settings on my RESMED S10 AUTOSET from looking at these sleepyhead reports from the last few days. I know the AHI number overall isnt that high but im wondering about when i see clusters of hyponeas and the pressure is maxed out, could raising the max or min pressure help prevent these. What does flow limit numbers mean in relationship to pressure? I still have some leak issues but from reading im thinking there not a real big issue but could be wrong.

I feel pretty good compared to what i felt like before cpap but still wake up a couple of times a night and it seems that looking at the data these wakeups occur right after an event sometimes, so im wondering what i can do to stop this. thanks for any help. im just trying to maximize my therapy.

The graphs indicate that your median pressure is 8cm and your upper pressure setting is plateauing. I think I would adjust the lower setting to 8cm and the upper to about 11cm. This way you start out in a therapy pressure area and this allows the CPAP to go higher if needed.

S10 is a pickup. you're got an A10, not to be confused with the airplane.

your leaks look good, turn on the 24cm dotted line in the charts and try to stay below it.

I second what SGearhart says about the pressure, though if it were me, I'd probably go to 9 and raise the max much higher.

higher pressure generally results in lower OA and HA and lower flow limitations.

your pressure is being driven by the flow limitations, the machine wants to go higher to cut down on those.

I don't know what you mean about the relation of flow limit numbers to pressure.

see? names are important, if you get the two confused, and hook your mask up to the s10, instead of the a10, it would probably be the last time we hear from you... not to mention the difficulty of getting the truck into the bedroom.
