Help the new girl please-back to the basics

Post by Cardsfan » Fri May 29, 2015 6:13 am

Yes, I have tried to google and search in history, with no luck. My pressure is set at 5 cm. What is cm? In my head I hear centimeters, but that can't be right is it?

Yes, it refers to the amount of pressure needed to raise a column of water a certain number of centimetres.

Here is a video that shows the differences between cmH20 and PSI (pounds per square inch) for measuring pressure:

Thanks. I don't want "to blow my head off", like the video states.

With a pressure of 5 (very low) most of us would not be able to breath.

try googling this the next time you're looking for answers:

"site:cpaptalk.com what is cm"

that uses googles much better search engine to pull up results from here

I'd rather show people how to find their own answers, instead of waiting on me... or someone else for that matter... it's quicker

ATTENTION NEWBIES and others: PR's tip above is a GREAT RESOURCE for you folks looking for quick answers.... simply put CPAPtalk's search engine isn't very good Just be sure to get the syntax right and you'll be good to go. It works with Duck Duck Go and most of the other search engines too.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
