Want to sell my 560P

Post by G.R. » Thu May 28, 2015 3:21 pm

I have a Philips system one 560P. I tried to use it a few times, It's just not for me. I think it has 6 hours on it. It is a complete unit. I paid almost $400 and I think the Company that sold it to me charged my insurance over $2000. Anyone want to make me an offer. It did not come with a case.

If this was purchased with insurance your insurance company can check on compliance and if you are not complying with the treatment, they can ask for the CPAP back. If you sell it before the insurance has been satisfied you will have to come up with the machine or the cash....ALSO...Evidently you need the therapy if you were prescribed the machine...you are kidding yourself if you think you can get along without it.

I got the machine over 2 years ago. My Doctor goes over board on everything. The sleep study said I stopped breathing 100 times a minute. I don't think that is even possible. My girl friend says I did not stop breathing when I was asleep and she was reading.( I know shes not a doctor, but shes cute) I have lost 80 pounds and walk 2 miles a day. So I guess I dodged a bullet. I also have had a different, more expensive, not as good insurance for the last 2 years. I tried to contact the company that sent the machine to me, all they wanted to do was to keep sending me supplies. And would not return my phone calls when I tried to return them. I think the the insurance Company would have said something by now. Please Tell me If you think I'm wrong.

Ok, you're wrong. Your girlfriend, nice as she may be, is not only not even a doctor, but is certainly not a lab full of equipment. 100 times an hour is NOT unheard of by any means and if it applies to you, weight loss or not, you're in big trouble and denial won't help.

Please let us get you set up properly - techs often do not and doctors are so ignorant about equipment it's pathetic. And so much of the time the mask choice is the problem... something we can absolutely help with. Losing wt is great, but does not guarantee no more apneas by a long shot. Let us know what mask you tried, what problems (in as much detail as possible) you had, hrs of sleep, etc. etc. and pressure settings you were given. Don't cheat yourself.

Please, get another sleep study to make sure you no longer have sleep apnea before getting rid of your machine. An untreated AHI of 100 is most definitely possible (you're not even the high AHI record holder on this forum), and it's in the Severe category. While a few lucky souls have been liberated from cpap after losing weight, it's quite rare. And even your girlfriend's 'eyewitness testimony' does not definitively rule out sleep apnea -- there's a reason all that sleep lab equipment is needed to diagnose someone, not just a watchful eye. Even if that eye is in the face of a cute girlfriend. If a sleep study rules out sleep apnea, then you will have indeed dodged a bullet and we'll be happy for you (and more than a little jealous, lol!). Good luck.
