cpap to auto cpap

Post by SmoothieMom » Sat May 23, 2015 8:33 pm

My old cpap machine has been set at 8, which is the prescribed setting. My new auto cpap has been set to 4-20. Should that be set to 8-20?

that would probably be a lot better, starting off, subject to verification by examining the data after a few days
they just left it on the factory default setting.

You presume that 8 was the correct value to start with.

I'd let the machine find its pressures, examine the reports and fine tune from there.

Ok, thanks. I will change it when it gets here in a few days. 8 on my old machine has kept me at 0-1 AHI.

no, I presume that 8 is what the OP is used to, and 4 is probably going to be too low, and certainly a big change, thus more likely to be sleep disturbing.

however, if you set it at min 8, and it never goes up, THEN try a lower setting, and see what happens, once there's data... which is why I said "for a few days" originally.
