Newbie having mask troubles

I'm a newbie with a nasal mask. I'm a side-sleeper who CAN NOT sleep on my back due to instant migraines. Any and all suggestions with how to get to a happy place with this thing would be most appreciated! I'm seriously considering a CPAP or buckwheat pillow. I'm past my 30 day mask trial period so getting a new is not an option for at least 6 months.

I sleep on the edge of the pillow, so it's under my head, but not mashing on my nose.

that said, you can buy masks from cpap.com at anytime, or amazon, or ebay.

sometimes you have to buy the parts on amazon or ebay, sometimes you find one that has 'bonuses' with the parts, and the bonus happens to be the rest of the mask.

I bought some P10 pillows and headgear for 40$, the bonus being the hose/frame assembly, in other words, new, unopened masks.

I slept on the edge of the regular pillow. Then I spent the money on a cpap pillow and I still have to sleep on the edge of it. So I don't think It made that much difference for me.
The thing that increased my comfort level was getting the strap pads from Pad A Cheek - made it much more comfortable on my face. It feels like the blanket or pillow against my face instead of the bare straps.

Sleepy owl I too am a side sleeper and have tried different pillows (none helped me). I use a FFM, tried several nasal masks(couldn't get them to stop leaking)so now I just kinda lay on the side (left or right) and kinda wiggle around till the mask and face are down in the pillow. the side facing up never gives a problem, I have found this procedure to work very well for me, sleep like a baby...lol
You just have to figure which mask type works best for you. My understanding is getting insurance with a new mask you can send it back and try another...just sayin...good luck and don't give up looking.
