Used mask about 3 nights- hate it

What do I do with a mask I used about 3 nights, and know I'm never going to like it? Is there some organization to donate it to? (Resmed Airfit P10) The places I've located online will not take used masks. It has all 4 pillows sizes too.

Maybe you can post it in this thread (below) or make mention you'd like to sell or trade it for something else.

I can relate to your feelings about the mask, after using my original UMFF or about a year, I got curious about the mask I used in my sleep study (Respironics Comfortfull 2) and bought one......barely managed to tolerate it for three nights and went back to my UMFF.

You put a reasonable 'used' price on it and try to sell it here...generally best to ask people to PM you about details.

Julie- what is considered the going rate for a gently used, almost new mask. A new one is $100.

I just take to our local Goodwill, and they said no thanks.

Well, used 3 nites, only $100 to start with... try something out and see what response you get... then proceed accordingly.

Just a thought for the future for you...if you get your trial masks from cpap.com, they have 30 day return insurance on the P10 at $0 cost. If you had bought it there, used it for 3 nights and returned it, you would have gotten a full refund.

So it goes...Not all masks at cpap.com have free return insurance, though. The P10 happens to be one of those. Whenever I've bought a mask from them to try out, I've gotten the return insurance...turns out my nose is pretty particular *smile* so it's worth my while.

It's considered medical waste and no one will take it because of hygiene issues, etc. Sell it on craigslist, or ebay, donate it to a willing taker on here, or if you want to be green, ship it back to the manufacturer to properly recycle or dispose of. Otherwise toss it in the trash or the local recycling bin.

Definitely next time get the insurance on a mask purchase. A sizeable percent of masks don't work out and get returned anyway, and at least you will get a refund in that case.

I tend to hang on to masks even if I think they are a no go. I have found with a pressure change a mask I thought was a not going to work suddenly becomes viable. There are also nights where nothing seems to be comfortable and I drag a relic out of the drawer and I can magically get to sleep. Just a thought.
