Resmed Airsense 10 Leak

Post by LaVaism » Thu May 21, 2015 2:45 pm

I have an Resmed Airsense 10 and I am having issues with the tank. I add water and close it up and put it into the machine. Once it starts up and when I breath in I get a high pitch whistle noise. It is coming from the water tank. I press down on it and it stops.

So I take the tank out, open and close it and put it back in the machine. It might leak or not leak. If it does I take it back out open it up, move the seal around and close it up and try again. I have to keep doing this until finally it gets a good seal.

Anyone else having this issue? Should I get a new tank? I know I had issues with rainout and I have the heated tube, so I got a new tube and that solved the issue (plus I put a snuggie thing on it).

Cheers!

Check the tank gasket for possible incomplete seating, and your tank hinges for alignment.
You could also check the silicone parts inside the cavity that the tank needs to fit up against.

My wife's AirSense 10 is having the same issues. At 3am the other night? morning? I just couldn't take it any longer and got up to fix the damnated thing there and then.
Wife was sound asleep as I 'worked' on it.
And you are right, the tank doesn't seal correctly.
I'm not sure if the silicone gasket is wrong or the tank isn't strong enough to hold itself tight to seal. I found actually pulling UP on the tank closer tab stopped the sound!
The problem is that can't last forever since having the water tub not-quite-sealed is probably stressing the plastic and it will break sooner rather than later.
I'm calling ResMed later and will hopefully get an answer as to defective seal, defective tank, or defective design, or our inability to put it in correctly.
