MAUDLIN ALERT MAUDLIN ALERT
For those of you that opened this post for the humor I apologize. I just wanted to take this milestone opportunity to say how much I love the people and this site. It really wasn’t that long ago that I first encountered this site in my search to find anything that would make my therapy easier. At first I was more than content with just lurking and seeing what everyone had to say until I came to this realization: The People on here really do care and want to help.
After that I couldn’t keep taking from the site without giving back. So I started posting some of my own experiences and eventually found a way to have fun on here. Some find my humor silly and others annoying, but I write because I find it entertaining for me. I love finding posts that just aren’t numbers and complaints. Laughter is just as much a part of this therapy as anything else.
I can’t thank Johnny and the folks at CPAP.com enough for providing us this opportunity to build and enjoy our community. It is so wonderful to find a vendor that truly takes their customers to heart and gives as much as they get from their customers. The staff at CPAP.com have always been friendly and helpful and I think a big part of it is they know what we go through isn’t easy. Maybe this site started out as a marketing tool but it ahs become so much more. We have been given the freedom to talk about everything regarding our therapy and we have a host that truly listens to what we have to say.
For a message board it all comes down to people. The people who interact with this board are amazing. There is one common thread through every post, the desire to help. If their experiences and research can make it better for one person for even one night they chime in. Every one of them could of said “I’ve been there and done that so go figure it out on your own”. But instead they voice their experience so we all can gain.
So for those of you new on the board you found a great place. Lurk or write it is your option, just keep checking back for how we can help you. In my opinion you won’t find many other places with such caring people who have lived through what you are experiencing.
Once again I am extremely grateful for Johnny and company providing us the forum and have a very warm place in my heart for those that helped make my therapy livable.
Thank you

Mike,
Thanks for your post. It's good to be reminded that the occasional "snipes" that evolve out of different opinions comprise such a miniscule part of this forum. I so enjoy reading everyone's writings (love the humor) and interjecting a few lines of my own. Like most who end up here, I was at a "breaking point" in struggling with my myriad of sleep issues, leaving a 10-year great job to give dedicated time to restoring my health after years of abusing myself in the struggle to be everything to everyone but myself. Being at my sickest and, after exhausting my "stall" options, choosing becoming unemployed and uninsured has been a scarey move that defies logic, but I could literally feel my health slipping away and even feared I may have waited too late. This forum helped me to prioritize my life in this arena, accept the seriousness of my sleep disorders, and finally respond to my body's scream for relief, especially my heart. So I come here to learn from the learned (and not so learned), to empathize, have a chuckle or two, and maybe even an occasional pity party. Thanks, Mike, for being a part of my free therapy.

Mike is so right - and he himself is not only a humor contributor either!
Great - serious - post, Mike, thanks for putting it so eloquently.

Congrats, Mike!
I've been quiet these past months, but I keep checking in and I am always pleased to see that this board is doing its usual fabulous job. Without Mike we would would have mch less to laugh about while we struggle with the morass of masks, machines, hose covers, water types, nasal interfaces, full face masks, APAP, CPAP, xPAP, tape, rubber bands, hosiery, software, hardware, pad-a-cheeks, DMEs, doctors, sleep labs, pillows, insurance, side/back/tummy sleepers and all of the other trials and tribulations I forgot to list that come as 'accessories' with this condition we all share (oh, yeah - SLEEP - forgot that one).
