Keep Encore Pro Data on Two PCs?

Post by dvejr » Tue May 16, 2006 8:09 pm

I have Encore Pro and My Encore on my desktop PC and everything works fine. But what will I do when I go on long trips?

I have two data cards, and I gather that each will hold only one week of detailed data. So if I go away for six days or fewer, I just pack the machine. If I'm going away for 7-14 days I take the second card and swap them out after Week One.

But what to do on a longer trip? I've installed Encore Pro on my laptop PC as well, and installed the card reader. I can travel with the laptop and download data every 7 days just like I do at home. But how do I keep all my data in ONE lastnamefirstname.xml file?

Has anyone tried this? I should be able to just copy the xml datafile from the desktop to the laptop and then keep adding data there. When I get home the file can then be copied back over to the desktop. But is there an easier way?

Doug

Doug, I did just what you suggested a couple of months ago. I took two cards with me and swapped them out after 5 days. The cards will actually store 7 days worth of info (I think). If you take a trip longer than two weeks, invest in another card. I can't imagine anything else simpler than swapping cards.

You can read the data into your computer from the Smart Cards on the same date, but it gets stored in the database on the correct days that the data was collected so that MyEncore sees the data correctly.

Regards,
Bill
