dreams
I have heard two different views about dreaming and rem sleep. Some say that dreams that are very vivid after awaking means you have been in rem sleep, while others say just the opposite. Is there anybody out there that KNOWS about the kind of sleep a person is in that dreams and remembers them?

Dreaming coincides with Rapid-Eye-Movement (REM) sleep. It is my understanding that is why the eyes are moving so much.
For most of my life I've remembered a lot of dreams. I'm also pretty sure that I've suffered from apnea for most of my life and that is why I remembered the dreams, because I was awakened from them.
After starting xPAP my dreams went from dark life-threatening themes to much more vivid and lively themes. I was still being awakened from the dreams but the apneas were apparently fewer and milder.
Now that I've gotten my apnea mostly under control, I rarely remember my dreams, as I am rarely awakened directly from REM sleep.
Regards,
Bill
