I just plugged in some measurement numbers for my nose and face on the CPCP.com web site, and it came back saying :
"Given your measurements, the Mirage Activa Mask with Headgear is not the ideal mask for you ".
I'm worred now.... I insisted that the Sleep Clinic order me this particular mask based on all the positive feedback I read on the forum.
But I "think" I also read a post where an Acctiva wearer got the same message and still loves their Activa Mask.
The Sleep Clinic "usually" order the Profile Lite Gel mask.
Have I made a terrible mistake ???
Also, on the pictures I see of the Activa Mask, it almost looks like it'a a Full Face Mask, with the biottom part protruding down to or past the lips.
Resmed says it's a nasal mask, but do they also have a Full Face Activa mask ?
The order was for a "Standard" size... whatever that means.
Thanks, Tim

THE SIZING CHART FOR THE ACTIVA™ IS BROKEN.
I would challenge anyone to put in any combination of measurements and get anything other than, as you say,
"Given your measurements, the Mirage Activa Mask with Headgear is not the ideal mask for you"
A few people have reported putting in some combination of numbers and getting "LARGE", but I haven't been able to reproduce that. This topic has been beaten to death in previous threads ("Thanks for all the good advice..."), This reflects my own recent experience with trying to get an Activa™, and finally giving up with using the measurements. I just got a "standard", same as my UMII. It has worked out ok. This leads me to believe that
THE SIZING CHART FOR THE ACTIVA™ IS GOOFY.
For what it's worth, I did call cpap.com and spoke to several individuals, who were extremely helpful and polite, (at Mike's suggestion). But apparently the measurement tool is not in doubt, I was informed that "everybody's face is different", and "Given your measurements, the Mirage Activa Mask with Headgear is not the ideal mask for you". I still bought the mask from cpap.com, but it was on a leap of faith and from advice from this forum about the size issue. I am not on a campaign to fix the sizing chart, because what else would we talk about. However, I'm still of the opinion that
THERE's SOMETHING NOT QUITE RIGHT ABOUT THE SIZING PAGE WITH REGARDS TO THE ACTIVA™.
It's actually an OK mask, as throbbing pulsating yet gentle effective masks with very forgiving dimensions and a good seal, go. It gave me a small red bump on the bridge of my nose, but I'm not through adjusting it. and I think it's going to work out ok. (When I get it just right, I can throw it in the drawer and start on something new). Meanwhile, probably the best way to get a good fit would be to try them all on and see what fits. I think the sizing tool isn't going to be all that helpful. (did i already mention that?)
He who dies with the most masks wins.
I think it was Rested Gal that reccommended the "Shallow" size for most people without a very prominent nose. I size out to a medium on most nasal masks and the 'Shallow 'Activa is my "go to" mask (it's what I use when the pillow systems just aren't working for me for some reason).
BTW the sizing wizard at cpap.com came up with the same message for me, that it's "not the ideal mask" but I found that it fits me very well.

I ordered an ACtiva also after speaking to Becky at CPAP.com
I told her I've got a nose like an Ardvaark
I'm getting a large. I'll let you know how it works out.
Of course the measure thingy said FORGET about it.
Best,
Tom
