Encore Pro 1.5 problem

Encore Pro 1.5 problem

I just got my card reader and downloaded my data into Encore Pro. When trying to view the reports, I get the following error:

"Can't instantiate control. Control is not registered. CLSIP="{...then I get a ton of numbers here}.

Yes, the word "instantiate" is just the way it is spelled in the error message. I have no idea what it means.

If I continue to press "enter" about 6-8 times, I finally get the section where the reports should be. The top of the page indicates that there are 10 pages, but the all appear to be blank, except the last page ( summary page ). The data in the summary page seems to be accurate, but I can't see the data or charts up to that point.

Any ideas?

Snoozalot, I have gotten an error slightly different from the one you're geting but that resulted in blank pages for the detailed charts. I ended up having to erase the Smart Card before I got it to quit. Never got the detailed charts in Encore Pro for those days, although the data showed up just fine in MyEncore.

Actually, I just accidentally erased all my data So, I went ahead and cleaned off the smart card. I've only been using it for about 10 days, so I guess now I can start fresh. I'll post results after I get some data.

BTW, anyone know if there is a "backup" file anywhere if the data is erased in error? I don't even know how I lost it, but somehow, it's gone.

Bob, same happened to me, same errors, and blank reports.

I re-installed Encore Pro over intial installation, and now all is fine... I did not have to touch the smart card.

I thought I recall seeing a post from Derek that you need to perform several steps to uninstall Encore Pro before re-installing, but I can't find it.

I wanted to report back my findings about this problem:

First I tried NightHawkeye's suggestion of erasing the card and starting from scratch with new data. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me.

Next, I re-installed Encore Pro over the existing installation per Strobotach's suggestion. THAT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!
