Smart Card reader

Post by Neurosurgery NP » Mon Jan 30, 2006 7:08 pm

I seem to have lost (misplaced) my Smart card reader. I went onto Amazon.com and they have a multi reader which supports Smart Media card. Is this the same?

Thanks, Jen

I don't believe that it is, Jen. Technically, the card reader may support all Smart Cards, but it would require software drivers written specifically for the reader and Encore Pro. So far as I know, the only card readers that are supported by the Respironics driver are the DT-3500 and DT-3000.

The only two places I found that you can get these card readers for substantially less than the CPAP sellers charge is from 2factors and SecureTech Peripherals.

Bill

Like a lot of things made in China, it's hard to know for sure. Mako is the usual name seen. However, the card reader says Infineer on top and that is also the name on the serial number sticker on the bottom of the card reader.
