MyEncore error message help, please

Post by WNJ » Sun Jan 29, 2006 6:35 pm

I recently bought a REMStar Auto and DT-3500 card reader, and I downloaded .NET, Encore Pro, and MyEncore. Encore Pro seems to be working okay.

MyEncore seems to have loaded successfully, but when I try to start it up, I get the error message, “Unable to access an Encore Pro database. MyEncore will close.”

After searching here for this problem, the only solution I found was to make sure that MMSQLServer is running.

I confirmed that MSSQLServer was (and is) running. That does not appear to be the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Wayne

Wayne,

Have you downloaded data from your Smartcard with Encore Pro?

Wayne,

I just tried to start up MyEncore without SQL running and that's the message I got, too (although it was a little longer message).

Yes, I've downloaded data, twice. Almost two weeks worth. Encore Pro generates reports and otherwise seems to be working okay.

But I get the error message when I try to boot up MyEncore.

(confused)

Wayne, I can't offer any suggestion but I feel your pain and frustration. Go my post "card reader installation question" and read Linda's step by step instructions, and other information there. Maybe something will help you with your problem. I too, had that error message along with a bunch more. I'm happy to say I finally got everything working properly last night and MyEncore is so user friendly, you will like it once you get it working.

Problem solved, thanks to Bonnie’s help. (Thanks, Bonnie!)

I think my problem may have been that I’m running Encore Pro ver. 1.5.82 (downloaded four or five days ago from the Respironics upgrade site) and I think I was probably running an earlier version of MyEncore which is compatible only with ver. 1.4.

I uninstalled MyEncore, ran the “setup.exe” file from the sleepyman site, then downloaded MyEncore ver 15b7 from the link Linda posted in Bonnie’s thread.

Seems to be working fine.

Thanks Bonnie and Linda!
