Comfort Curve Whistles
I just purchased a Comfort Curve from Yahoo Auctions. After reading this forum, I realize that I don't have the "updated" headgear, so I'll have to find some way to get one, because it looks like it would be easier to adjust.
I don't think that has anything to do with my whistling problem, however. I didn't notice any whistling for the first three days, but since then, I wake up to the loud whistle. My partner says that it has been whistling at different decibel levels since I got it--she was just trying to decide whether the whistling or the snoring was worse!
Any ideas out there?

Comfort Curve
I have a Comfort Curve. It whistles sometimes. This whistling happens when the nose piece is not on just right after I reattach it after I clean it. It also used to whistle at the elbow join where the hose part attaches to the cross piece with the cheek pads and nose piece. I put plumber's tape in there at that join (where it snaps together) and that stopped the whistling there. I have to change the plumber's tape sometimes. When I wash it, I usually don't take it apart there. I just run the soapy water through the hose and cross piece and rinse. Don't know if I explained that too well. Hope it helps.

So, if I put plumbers'/teflon tape in the elbow joints, it won't whistle any more? To do this, I put the tape on and then fit the other piece over it--so the tape ends up between the two pieces?
I, also, think it's ridiculous to have to jury-rig something so expensive. But one has to do what works since we can't "try before we buy."

I can only guess. Probably the snoring.JKNeedsSleep wrote: My partner says that it has been whistling at different decibel levels since I got it--she was just trying to decide whether the whistling or the snoring was worse!

I tried everything, the whistle came back...my view, somewhere between conception, design, engineering, and production, this product was known to be deficient, but still brought to market.
I've been using the CC for almost a year. The "old school" fix for the whistlng is just to wrap a bit of Saran Wrap around the joints -- it works perfectly. I just got a replacement mask and while it is true that the joints are tighter, I also find that the whistling is worse with this one than the old one. With my former CC, it did not matter if the hose fitting was snapped properly into the "winged" face pad section, but with this one, if it is not snapped in properly, it whistles more. It is still the best mask for me as it is the intrusive mask that I can successfully wear.
