Securetech Peripherals for Smart Card Reader

Post by NightHawkeye » Thu Dec 29, 2005 4:49 pm

Has anyone here used these guys? After a couple of days I couldn't get any response from 2factors when I tried to order from them.

Securetech Peripherals claims to have the same unit, the DT-3500. The price is just under $50 which is still a bargain.

I ordered one yesterday and it was shipped out the same day. Hopefully, I'll get it tomorrow.

Bill

The card reader arrived today as promised. I installed the Respironics driver and it works just fine.

I still haven't heard from 2factors and their system won't let me log in to purchase anything. Guess they didn't want my business.

Bill

Nighthawkeye:

Just logged on the 2factors web site with no problem! Still have the 3500 w/shipping for $30.80.

Hope this helps!

Yep, I didn't have any problems logging onto the 2factors website either, just couldn't establish an account with them to be able to order anything. I entered all the required info several times; even tried different user ID's and after every attempt, I got the same message telling me that my info had been accepted and that an e-mail had been sent telling me how to log in. Only thing is, no e-mail ever arrived and even though I'd chosen a user ID and password for the account, their system refused to let me log in.

Go figure! I decided life was too short to wait for those guys to get back from Chinese New Year or from where ever they were at.

Regards,
Bill

I also had problems at the 2factors site.

I finally talked to a person and was informed the order would not work with my mozilla firefox, I switched to IE and it worked fine.

I'm busted. I was, in fact, using Firefox.

I think I'm much happier though having paid a little more and getting the card reader a whole lot faster, especially since I'm now seeing my data.

Bill

For the extra money you got faster service, but 7 days from 2Factors was amazing, I wish I had ordered a spare.

As was previously said, the 2factors website is pretty cheesy... you need to make sure to use IE or else you'll miss the little pop-up messages..And you have to make sure to _add shipping to your cart_ or your order won't meet the minimum order limit. The first time I registered I never got an email... I just re-registered and once I figured out how to get my order placed the service from Hong Kong was GREAT... Seriously. I had my card reader FASTER from Hong Kong than I had the software from Texas. (The blame for that falls squarely on UPS )
