Help with Myencore installation

Post by napper » Wed Dec 28, 2005 9:51 pm

I finally was able to install encorepro and a smart card readers now it's time to tackle Myencore... I keep getting the following message:

My Encore will close
Index # 0
Message:SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Line Number:0
Source: .net sql client data provider
Procedure: Connection open (Connect ()).

With the sql server I opted for not putting in a password with the understanding that myencore would be compatable.

Any thoughts...

I have been wading through these postings for hours and still have not been able to fix the problem.

I know that the server does exist and is running as shown on the bottom right corner of my screen.
I have data from the smart card downloaded to EncorePro.
I am on my computer as an admistrator.

When I downloaded EncorePro I did not use a password (option 2 when selecting server options). The error message does not prompt for a password but states that the "server does not exist or access denied."

It's ironic that I am loosing sleep over the installation of software to provide data regarding my sleep problems...

Sorry, my last post was as "guest" - I've reinstalled and rebooted a few times but at least I have moved up the error message food chain. I no longer have the server does not exist or access denied message; now I get a request for a password. As I stated in my first post, I did not submit a password when installing EncorePro but MyEncore wants one.

The server is running - I can see the little devil - would the letters and numbers before the characters before the \encore -mssq server be the problem - they don't mean anything to me?

Did you install Encore Pro 1.5?

I had this same problem with Encore Pro 1.5 and My Encore. Derek came up with a new version of My Encore to fix it: ver 1.5B7. Uninstalll My Encore before installing this version of My Encore. I can't find Derek's download site for some reason, so go to http://jerrylester.com/MyEncore/. Right click on the file, 'myencore15b7.msi' to get a context menu and select 'Save Target As'.

Once downloaded, double click to install. Should take care of your problems.

Napper, I found it.

This is the topic you need if you have just installed Encore Pro 1.5:

THANK YOU! I had installed an earlier beta version for use with Encore 1.5 but the version that you provided did the trick!

I realize how frustrating it can be when people ask the same questions over and over again without reading previously posted data, but I was running out of options. As it stands right now I'm using my laptop since I fowled up the SQL server on my desktop.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer my plea and have a wonderful new year!

Glad you got it working.

I know how disappointing it can be to want to get EP and ME running. But, Derek fixed ME for EP 1.5, and I'm having a great time with it. See my sleep study topic: viewtopic.php?t=6234&start=60&sid=30cfd ... c3aa5d0dce

So, how are you going to fix the MS SQL server on your desktop? Doesn't it get installed with Encore Pro? I don't really know. Just guessing. But, if it is installed by EP, why not remove and re-install EP. You will lose any data, I suppose, but you can export the data from your laptop, can't you? Oh, I remember that Derek had instructions on dealing with the SQL server. Do a search to see if you can find his topic.

Thank you Jerry, I've been trying in vein with the old one and just happened across your thread. I seen you had yours working and I was going to P.M. you. Thanks again, Jim
