Comfort Curve Interface
I have been using the Comfort Curve for about 4 months now and I really like it. I like that it just sits under the nose. I am hardly aware of the cheek pads and find the headgear to be great. Some people on this forum have had a lot of problems with it but I like. One thing I should tell you is that I sleep on my back. I don't move much at all. I don't know how it would be for side sleepers or people who move a lot in their sleep.

Funny you should ask...
I just switched to a new DME yesterday and she is letting me try a Comfort Curve for a couple weeks. I spent about an hour right when I got home getting it all adjusted, getting the correct size seal on it, etc... When I was comfortable that I had it all figured out, I set it up in my room and went about my evening.
When I went to bed, I threw it on and the only thing that woke me up all night, was my wife. She has a bad cold and was whining in her sleep. The CC didn't leak all night, and I sleep on my back some, but mostly on my sides. I did have to move my face closer to the edge of the pillow than normal, but it didn't bother me at all.
I have read horror stories about this interface. You either LOVE it or you HATE it. So far, I am loving it. It was really nice to sleep without that huge full face mask on. Though I will still need it when my sinuses are bothering me.
I suspect that some of the people that hated it didn't take enough time adjusting it and making sure they got a good fit. I could be wrong though. When I first put it on and turned the machine on, it was super loud and I thought about taking it right back to the DME. Once you get it fitted correctly, it is almost silent. Much quieter than my HC431, which I thought was pretty quiet.
If you can find a DME that will let you try this interface out, go for it. Like I said, you will either love it or hate it, and you will probably know within days.
Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!

Re: HAS ANYONE TRIED THE COMFORTCURVE NASAL INTERFACE
I like the comfort of the mask - it is unobtrusive and lightweight. However, for me, with a pressure setting of 18, I find I have to keep my face kind of "buried" against the pillow to keep the ComfortCurve from leaking. This, in turn causes me to wake up each time I move my face away from the pillow and the mask begins leaking and blowing air into my eyes. I've spent hours adjusting this thing but find I still have to do as I describe above. I believe it would probably be a good mask for those with lower airflow requirements.gulfpearl wrote:I am thinking of purchasing a new mask & I would like your opinions on the restronics comfortcurve nasal interface.

I use an Activa at home and travel with a ComfortCurve because it packs so well (the pouch that comes with it is sized to fit in the back pocket of the Respironics case). I like the mask but stick with the Activa because it is less "finicky" about its seal. I suspect a lot of the success is related to the shape of your nares, round seems to be a better match than slotted nares. As the post above said, it is a love/hate mask. If you search on the name you should get a bucketful of posts to study! It is a classic example of how a "try before you buy" approach to mask purchases would be such a Godsend to us!

There are some pretty interesting pro/con discussions about the Comfort Curve here:

It didn't suit me at all...very leaky when I turned on either side. The cheek slabs made my face feel like it was clamped in a vise.

I found the Comfort Curve to be head and shoulders above the rest of the 5 masks I tried. I've been using it for about 11 weeks now with no problems except occasional minor leaks when side sleeping, for which my Remstar Auto adjusts. But everyone is different. It would be best to get it on a trial basis to see if it works for you.

The ComfortCurve worked for me and I liked the mask and wore it for over 2 months. No problems. My wife had nothing but problems with the mask (leaks)But right now the Aura has won me over............I might get the Comfortcurve out one night and give it another try. But for tonight it is the Aura. The CC and the swift will just have to stay in the drawer

I have been using the Comfort Curve for about three weeks and like it a lot. There is only minimal force on your nose because the cheek pads are what stabilizes the mask and this makes it very comfortable.
I sleep on my side and it works for me although sometimes when I roll over it gets pushed to one side and leaks, but a quick readjustment is all that is needed.
Masks seem to be a very personal thing and I personally do not make mask decisions based on what I read on the forum. What works for one person may not work for another and vice versa.
