2factors smart card reader

Post by yardbird » Thu Nov 24, 2005 7:50 pm

ok I see the reader... slider version... USB... for $24. Someone mentioned $5 shipping. I don't see that anywhere. I see $6.80 Postal Service to US with arrival estimate of 10 to 20 days. Then I see a FedEx delivery for $20 that says 2 to 4 days.

If you had yours shipped using postal service, was it really 2 to 3 weeks before you got it?

Sic Jore Fan Mei? (or just plain Lay Ho Ma )

Anyway,

I got mine after a few days (about 5).

The $20 express delivery is a joke - the $6 delivery is as good as an express as most humans want. My Cantonese friends do like to collect money from wealthy (to them) Americans who believe the banter re $20 vs $6 in days to deliver.

In summary what I am saying is go for the $6 delivery. It only takes a few days.

DONT pay the $20

Cheers

Got mine in a little over a week. Had to pay through paypal. Cost was $24 for reader with $6.80 shipping through USPS and the Hong Kong postal service. I ordered as an extra for the price. Hey, you can get the Respironics new 1.5 software free now for the download! So, all you will need is this card reader. If you want extra cards, 2factors has those too, 5 for $25.

I checked out the Site and tried to make an order for one reader, but got stopped by the $30 minimum order flag. Did you have the same experience? Dale[/quote] Nevermind! I added the shipping icon, and the total came to $30.80. Got it ordered, Thanks to all for this valuable information! Dale

Well, it comes from Hong Kong Air Express by the Postal Service, so 10 days or so is not bad. Or you can pay more for FedEx...don't know how fast that is.

I have been checking in the threads and I have found very useful information about the 2factors card reader, but I can't find anything about the card itself.
Should I order the Multipurpose smart card that 2 factors is selling in their web page or there is a better place to order it from?

2factors sells the cards in packs of 5 for $25. Your machine should come with a card. Really, all you need is the card that comes with the machine and the software and reader. 2factors is the cheapest I've seen for the cards. Others sell the for $10-15 for just one. But do you need more?

Thank you for your input. I am using at present a remstar pro, which I will soon substitute by a remstar auto, thus my interest in the card reader.
I didn't know however that the auto comes already with a card included, and this why I was wondering what type I needed and where to get the card from.
Obviously one should be enough, and I see no need to buy the extra ones
