MyEncore Download Problems

Post by Mark83 » Sun Oct 30, 2005 11:14 am

Hello to everyone....I am a first time CPAP user and I just purchased the Encore Pro software and installed it on my PC. It works fine. I followed the installation instructions for downloading MyEncore but when I click on the MyEncore icon to open it I get a message that reads "Setup Error...Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup"

I have downloaded the .NET Framework 1.1 and that seemed to work fine.

I downloaded the file Myencore.msi to my desktop then double clicked and went thru the installation process. Again seemed to work fine.

Restarted computer and when I clicked the MyEncore icon I receive the above message.

I have a new Dell with Microsoft XP with plenty of disk space. I am obviously missing something (hopefully easy) and I am hoping that others can help me with this setup. I have read posts that several others had problems installing this but didn't see anyone with my particular issue.

If you need further info on my PC I can provide it. Looking forward to getting this up and running!!

THANKS,

MARK

Simplest thing to try is to uninstall, reboot and reinstall from the CD.

Mark, if what biggziff suggests doesn't resolve the problem, you might want to check here:

LINKS to Encore Pro, "MyEncore", smart card reader

STOP THE PRESSES.

Don't uninstall Encore Pro. That is not your problem. I had this exact same error message a couple of weeks ago every time I X'd out of My Encore. I couldn't get back in. I had to keep uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Finally, one day, I left it running all day in the background and it continued to work.

So, the only way I coud fix it was to uninstall and reinstall JUST My Encore. That worked for me. It had absolutely nothing to do with Encore Pro, at least in my case. If that is working fine, leave that alone for now.

Since we are talking about software......

I just got and installed Encore Pro software....I also downloaded and installed MY Encore....

But as of now I don't have the card reader yet....

Now....

After reading a few threads on here....I went to Encore Pro and changed the option for " not to erase data after download"....Then while poking around the Encore pro CD I notice a folder a/w card readers and ran a setup file for a card reader......

So just for the hell of it I tried to run My Encore and I got this message
" failed to load resources from resource file, Please check your setup"....

I can only assume since I haven't downloaded any information from my cpap device ( RemStar Auto ) I would get this message...Does this sound right to anyone....?

Also when I ran the setup utility for the card reader it also installed a user manual for the DT3500 card reader, My question on this is ...when I get my card reader do I just plug it in my usb port...or do I run the cd that will probaly come with the reader ...????

RAMBLINMAN....I also do not have my card reader yet. It will be here tomorrow. I ordered from twofactors like others suggested here. Maybe that IS my problem as well?? Same error message as you! Maybe it needs to have that connected with the smartcard data BEFORE Myencore will even open up?? I hope someone can help us out here.

Just FYI to everyone....I uninstalled EVERYTHING...Encore Pro, .NET Framework 1.1, Myencore, everything....then reinstalled everything in the proper order. Encore Pro works fine.....same message as above when I double click on Myencore icon.

Can anybody help RAMBLINMAN and I with this issue??

Thanks,

MARK

Good people,
The most common cause for this problem is that there is no valid data in the Encore Pro database when you try to run MyEncore. Make sure that you have done a valid download from the card to Encore Pro, and try again....
PLEASE, let me know what happens...

Regards,
Derek

Ahhh...no data and myencore won't work. It tried to connect to the SQL database if there isn't one, or no data then it'll throw that error.

I received my card reader Tuesday while I was out of town traveling for work so I finally got a chance to play around with things last night. The card reader works fine!!! Opened Myencore and all my data was there!! Now I just need to spend some time studying and learning what all of it means so I know what I am looking at!

I traveled with my equipment on this trip which was only a driving trip and not flying. I love my equipment so far but there is NO way I can be packing this large equipment for air travel!! So I am going to have to purchase (out of my pocket) a smaller CPAP for travel. I will read some other posts to get an idea of a good travel size CPAP. (PB420, S8, etc.)

I will update my CPAP progress in another post.
