A Wonderful CPAP Day

Post by mikemoran » Thu Oct 27, 2005 9:17 am

When I saw that new battery powered daytime CPAP I knew I had to have it. If this stuff worked so well when I was sleeping, I knew it would be that much better it I used it all day long. So I placed my order and checked my mail every day just like when I was a kid and had sent off my box tops. My new toy finally arrived and I tried it out the very next morning. Using one of my son’s old backpack I donned my nasal mask and headed out the door to greet a new day.

Usually I have to sprint to get into my car before the neighbor’s dog descends upon me. I am sure it was that added air of confidence that told him I was no one to mess with today. Even my morning commute was a breeze thanks to all my fellow commuters. It must have been of glimpse of my cheerful smile in their rearview mirrors that caused them to change lanes and give me clear passage.

I had a big presentation to give that afternoon and starting working on the final touches. My co-workers could tell I was in the zone as they didn’t disturb me in my office all morning long. They even let me have the restroom to myself, which was their loss cause I found the echoing of my breath off the walls to be very soothing. Some of the guys even seemed a little envious as I headed out and I am still not sure why the guy from graphics was winking at me.

Evidently my diner has instituted a new express lunch policy. The usual 15 minute wait was cut down to almost nothing as the waitress practically threw my food at me. Maybe one of the folks at work had told them how busy I was that day. The owner refused to let me pay as he escorted me to the door mumbling something about being the 10,000th customer.

That afternoon the presentation went swimmingly as I had captured the room’s full attention and the added timbre in my voice had them hanging on every word. Even the big boss ignored his blackberry as he couldn’t take his eyes off me. They were so enthusiastic about my proposal they stopped me half way through just so they could get started on it right away. Yep I smell Vice President right around the corner. Who knew that getting treated for a sleep disorder would be such a career booster?

My easy commute home and no line at the grocery store were just the icing on a fantastic day. This therapy really works! Can’t wait until casual Friday when I get to wear my nasal pillows.

Another great story. The letters to Paphouse were great also. It's like one of those serial novels. You read it and then anxiously await the next installment. Keep up the good work!!!
WooHoo! Life is good.
I get a little cocky when I am "NO LONGER TIRED"

Heh heh.

I've actually considered wearing mine for Halloween.

Is it color coordinated with your shirt? Now it will be incorporated into "How to Dress for Success."

I just realized one of my biggest career mistakes. I've been following National Lampoon's "How to Undress for Success" LOL

Judging from the state of my homemade Filtrite filters after a week of night time use I would bet breathing filtered air all day would actually make you feel pretty good. but I am not going to test the theory in public

There is something creepy about walking by one of those 30 seat nail places at the mall and seeing 30 people in masks and white smocks staring out at you.....
