CPAP-Pro Alternative

Post by mikemoran » Tue Sep 20, 2005 8:15 am

Yes I got way to much air last night so I started thinking about a new interface design. Its an Oral mask that is secured to your face by plunging two sticks up your nose. The advantage is it would seal your nose at the same time it provided pressure through your mouth.

I'm thinking I could make it out of a small toilet plunger, two dowels and a length of garden hose. I could price it at $35 with $225 shipping and handling. Well I am off to build my website and watch the money roll in

Breaking open the piggy bank....counting the change....

Ahhh!! Just enough to buy mikemoran's GREAT sounding new mask AND have enough left over for a new pair of pantyhose tights. (Just in case.)

I don't know Velcro might increase the shipping and handling by a few bucks. I was leaning more towards doublesided carpet tape.

Maybe I should respond like other manufacturers:

We always appreciate the comments and concerns provided by our customers. your ideas are highly valued and we will consider them in our future products.

(translation - we didn't think of it and didn't get to test it out on the three drunks we found on the street so no chance of seeing it in your lifetime)

don't you love how the FDA gives a license to steal Damn it feels good to be a designer LOL

I was surprised that you did not include another essential component, the unbelievably versatile whoopee cushion. It can not only be inflated to make a better seal, but it also can be counted on to be the mask's warning device for leaks.

Possibly a little Crazy Glue in there, too, or course renamed so it sounds CPAP-related and you can charge a lot more for it when you need a refill, like Nare-Care Glue, for around the nares in case you move and the seal could become dislodged...

Future Press Release:

The highly successful CPAP-Probe line of interfaces will be enhanced with the addition of exclusive Whoopieflex cushion technology. This innovation will not only provide personalized sizing and a bulit in leak alert but also act as mask alarm in the event of cat attack. It is not recommended that it be used a decoy device for air that is not provided through your CPAP. In addition, as a result of testing with our focus group of potential CPAP users, we will also be adding the option of blue or white masking tape accents which are guaranteed to improve compliance.

"CPAP-Probe its not an appliance its a fashion statement"

Remember the developer isn't just a designer he is also a CPAP user so he is well aware of what the market can bare.

Damn way to much air. Was just wondering how Rested Gal will lab rat this device. I envision her using medical sillicone, surgical steel and something made out of Breathoprene.

RG I love what you do

Man, we need RG to get in on this, so the headgear will work for people that are bald to those that have long hair that touches the floor.
