DreamFit: 2nd Night's Results

Post by TXKajun » Sun Aug 21, 2005 11:54 am

AHI was all the way up to 1.2 last night, giving me a 2 nights' running average of an AHI of 0.7 using the PB DreamFit nasal interface!!! WOOHOO! And yes, I'm feeling good......better than with my UltraMirage? Hard to say. More comfy sleeping than with the UltraMirage? Definitely!!

I made absolutely NO adjustments last night from the night before (night 1) in mask fit or pre-sleep routine and was asleep for 7 hrs 15 min. My acoustic vibration index is down to 1.7 from 5.6 using the UltraMirage FF mask. I think this DreamFit is just that......a dream mask that fits extremely well.

I did wake up a couple of times with air coming out of my mouth, but I closed my mouth (often times a good thing for me to do, whether asleep OR awake! LOL) and dropped right back into a wonderful sleep.

I still keep my UltraMirage FF mask right next to the bed, just in case it's needed. One kinda strange thing...I used to notice my sinuses got stuffed up using the UltraMirage FF mask (even using the HH) and had concerns that a nasal mask wouldn't work due to congestion. In the 2 nights I've used the DreamFit, there has been no sinus congestion at all. I was using the Flonase/saline spray just the same as now as with the UltraMirage. *shrug* I'm not gonna try to figure it out cuz it's WORKING!!

One last thing. My 90% pressure last night was 9 cm. This is flat amazing since my titrated pressure was 16!!! I was seeing a 90% pressure of 11 using the UltraMirage. I'm going to keep my settings on my 420e at 9 - 14 for another couple of days and then consider lowering my low setting if it stays at 9 (yeah, I know all the discussions we've had on being able to set our own pressures without Dr. or R/T input, but I also know that I feel a WHOLE lot better now what with my tweaking and everything. Thank heaven for data readout and adjustment abilities on these units!!!)

That's all for now folks. I'll keep posting results and let ya'll know how it's going.

This therapy WORKS!

Very true for a lot of us.

After reading your rave review and of your two night success with the PB Dream Fit nasal mask, I had to look and see what mask this was your were talking about. Is this not the same as an Activa, only made by PB and with a hose that goes up over your head? I read the description and it was like reading the one for the Activa, at least to me. What are the differences that you know of, if any?

In any event, I am very happy for you that you seem to have found your mask. It's a great feeling to find something that works. Hope you continue to have the success you have had the past two nights. Feel great!

I'd be interested is hearing a few more days of how your DreamFit goes.

I agree the description makes it sound along the lines of the Activa. I am an Activa user and generally ok with it. I find a couple of non-problem causing annoyances for me are that big ole swivel assembly which looks better on the DreamFit (at least from the picture) and my Activa head gear is just enormous on me and I have a pretty normal head. Again, just minor annoyances and not big deals, but the DreamFit looks like it has potential and is cheaper on top of it.
