Janelle,

Mikesus left us and started his own forum, I don't know what Hugh is up to and Ted is probably busy helping all the cpap.com customers.

Sincerely,
wading thru the muck of the sleep study/DME/Insurance money pit!

Geeze, if you wouldn't spend so much time out in the kitchen tending to your humidifier, Will......

mikesus and LDuyer have been busy with the ASAA (American Sleep Apnea Association) getting an active forum going. They've been doing a very good job. Helping people, as they've always done.

Did you miss an entire 5 page topic, Will? I want the humidifier you're using! LOL

RG,

I hope you don't live anywhere near Ontario. I'd be afraid of WillSucceed as he looks kind of build from his photo...

I remember what happened with this thread... I ignored it.

I got so sick, sore and tired of the bashing that I got when Liam was posting that I have pretty much stopped reading threads that get a conflictual tone going.

Sorry if I opened something up that should have been left closed!

Surprise, Surprise!

I missed it also. I've been out of commission for a while with some health problems and haven't done much at all on the ol' computer. But I'm back in the saddle again. (I missed you guys).

Haven't yet thought through the concept of an "official" "national" "association" competing against private enterprise sponsored forums - but my quick take is I don't like the idea. I guess, basically because I had my own very small business before retirement, I don't like a "national" organization stepping into a for profit business arena, and especially as a "competitor" for its members.

Is that the American way? I sure hope it hasn't changed that much. But then, I really need time to think the whole situation through. These comments are my initial gut reaction.

I really did miss you guys,
FL andy

HI WillS,

I started that thread and the only conflict involved was that unfortunately the ASAA felt they could not affiliate with the cpaptalk forum. My goal in pursuing that issue was to find a way to connect the "in-person" AWAKE support groups with the "online" support community. At the invitation of Dave Hargett (president of the ASAA) I attended a meeting of his AWAKE group. The folks there, who for the most part are not internet active, had a intense interest in what was going on here on the forum. Since we can't bring those folks to the internet, my hope was to bring "us folks" to the AWAKE meetings by incorporating AWAKE into the cpaptalk forum. Apparently the fact that cpaptalk in run by a commercial entity precluded them from taking the opportunity to facilitate this connection. Johnny and I have talked many times about this issue and he is working hard to find a way to accomplish this.

If you (or any other interested party) have any ideas on the subject, please offer them on the forum. It's a good goal (IMHO) and I'd love to see it happen somehow.

Sincerely,
wading thru the muck of the sleep study/DME/Insurance money pit!
