Need help modifying my Swift
Need help modifying my Swift
I found this on a thread from July 9th and I don't really understand it. Can anybody explain this differently.
Hello I am new to this board. I am only 25 years old but have played around with different masks and haven't been sucessful in 5 years due to not being able to tolerate masks. Well when I found the Swift I was able to comply all night long ! One problem was it would wake me up at night with a loud wooshing noise. I was so diappointed . I thought maybe I didn't reassemble it right because it was quiet when I fell asleep the noise started about 2-3 hours in. So I cleaned it real well and put it back together again carefully this time. Well that night it made that darn air leak sound. Well under close inspection I found where the leak was! The ends snap on with clips. If you look at the end of where it snaps on the slits go all the way to the edge. Well when your head puts tension on the headgear it pulls the plastic piece apart just enough to barely expose the slit letting air leak out. Figured if I could just cover that slit enough so air would no longer escape the noise would hopefully stop. I am very poor so I wrapped the end in scotch tape but left the end open so it would still snap in place. Ever since that night I have yet to hear that noise except if blankets or my pillow get in the way. Hope this helps someone get a better nights rest!
I'm not understanding what she did. I'm looking at the barrel and I can't figure out what she's looking at when she says "the end where it snaps on the slits go all the way to the edge". The ends of mine don't have "clips".
Thanks..Amy

Hey Bill!
I look forward to hearing about your first night with your new setup. Your posts are always very informative and entertaining!
On a different subject, because you have set up your profile to display your equipment in each and every post, and because the URL is long, it seems to be resulting in making the page too wide to read within the screen without having to scroll right to see it all. So maybe you'd consider eliminating your equipment lines from your posts?
(Maybe this is too petty to bring up, but I have OSA, I'm sleep-deprived and I'm cranky gosh darnit. Scrolling back and forth is akin to having a slow mask leak.....)

Hi yawn,
It wasn't your profile causing it. I THINK the problem is in Bill's. I THINK as soon as anyone with a URL too long makes a post, the whole page becomes wide forever.
Then again, I could be wrong. But I THINK I'm right. If it turns out I'm wrong, I'm open to suggestions on something else petty to complain about....

Thanks. Look for a first night report later today.Anonymous wrote:Hey Bill!

No problem. When I realized that it was the long text-link listing for the equipment I changed my profile to show it as images instead. That seems to have fixed the problem. It seems that links can't wrap.On a different subject, because you have set up your profile to display your equipment in each and every post, and because the URL is long, it seems to be resulting in making the page too wide to read within the screen without having to scroll right to see it all. You can also do what we did in the olden days, (about 2 months ago...):
Insert the words you want to add into your moto - like I have just done as an example.
It's plain old text , not pictures. not url's, but it does convey the message....
I'm sure Johnny and co. are working on solving the long URL problem too.

Hi Bill....yes, the tape worked really well. I'm just not sure if I should replace it every day or just leave it alone until it stops working.
I didn't get to try the tulle trick because we had company sleeping in my sewing room last night. I forget to get the tulle before he went to bed. I don't think I'll need it though...the tape really helped!
