InnoMed NasalAire II versus Mirage Swift. Which????

Post by Derrell » Sat Jun 18, 2005 5:01 pm

I tried the Puritan Bennet Breeze for about an hour one night, packed it away as it really irritated my nose. Afterthoughts, the pillows the DME gave me were probably way too big.

I have used the ComfortCurve for past 2 months, and has been working fine until recently. I seem to move about onto my side more now, and the mask will shift and exhale a lot of air which disturbs my wife.

I like the small profile of the ComfortCurve, but it moves about too much even though I do have the straps pretty tight to a point in the mornings it takes an hour or so to get the creases out of back of my head.

I am thinking about the Mirage Swift, but can't get over the nightmare of past with very distressed nasal passage from the pillows. I am wondering if the Innomed NasalAire with the prong system will be as bad.

Anyway, any recommendations concerning the Mirage Swift versus the NasalAire?

I love my Swift though it does put out air as do they all, but I don't like my nasal air at all. But it is all relative and I know fans of the nasal air, just not my thing. I think the Swift is the best of the pillow systems and it comes with three sizes so size will not be an issue.

Boy, it really is true that some masks work well for some, and not so well for others. Guess I will just have to shoot in the dark and try one of these. I'm kind of leaning to try the Swift first, if it doesn't work out I guess I will keep trying masks until I get what I need.

I have used both in the 3 months I have been on CPAP. I far prefer the nasal aire. It is a bit uncomfortable for the first 10-15 minutes each night but soon I don't feel it at all. Took about two weeks to get used to it. The Swift moved around too much when I turned from side to side. Good luck!!!
