I AM DREAMING!!!

Post by SailorBoy » Wed May 18, 2005 10:40 pm

Okay, it's been about two months. I've been feeling peppy since day one and adapted well to my 420e + swift setup

But now I am having long and detailed dreams. Really long. Actually, somewhat boring. One was about running a marathon. (Yeah right, like I am going to do that!) Anyway, it seemed like i dreamed every step.

This is surely better than my 90 second phase 1 micro-REM sleep that I used to get.

Gee, what's next?

Isn't it fun to dream again?

I used to love going to bed because of the many adventures I'd have during my sleep.

Last night I spent the night with my mom, who has been gone since 1991.

I feel so lucky on nights like that, when her and I can be together again, even though I know its not real.

I also have some really weird dreams, its like where the heck did that come from?!?

Happy dreaming!

Heidi

Yes, I also have found myself dreaming again, which I had not done for years. But DARN, at least in my dreams it was extremely expensive. I had a very vivid dream that apparently I decided on a whim to buy a 50 foot yacht!!! The only good news (other than the dent in my dream wallet) was that I was able to "crew" all the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders............Yippee!

hahaha Derrell. Thanks for the laugh. Not a bad dream at all. I still haven't had any dreams yet. Guess I am still trying to catch up.

I find myself dreaming occasionally too and they are also long. My dreams used to suddenly shift, but they don't anymore. I remember one where I was hiking across an empty field and suddenly there was the Empire State Building. As I got closer it turned into a medieval castle. I now wonder if these dreams weren't changing because they were really different dreams being interrupted by apneas.

I'm dreaming tooooooooooo real dreams not the ones where you are so worried about sleep that you think your dreaming about not sleeping and don't know when your sleeping and when your not sleeping

After being on CPAP for a week my dreams started getting pretty vivid, and they would last a long time. Now it's been two and a half months, and dreams are still going long and strong. I feel happy about all of this, because most of the dreams are positive experiences. CPAP may sometimes be a real pain, but I sure can't argue with some of the rewards.

Isn't it terrific to be dreaming again.?

I've only been on cpap for a month and started dreaming again on the second night.
Irrespective of all of the research on the need for rem sleep, it's just great to go to that fantasy world again isn't it? (fortunately no nightmares yet just lots of great dream experiences).

I've been dreaming a lot too (as I used to when I was much younger) ... I wonder if my dreaming has contributed to why I'm feeling so much younger these days?

I started on the first night of PAP treatment and have continued without fail every night since. My dreams are indeed a lot of fun too (nightmares have always been extremely rare for me and I don't recall having a single one since beginning PAP treatment). It sure would be cool if someone invented a gadget to record dreams onto a DVD or some type of digital media

Dreams ... the gateway to the other side of the universe.

I almost think that the dreams are more fun that the fact that I'm not so tired all of the time. (Almost.)

I've had so many strange dreams in the last few months! What freaks me out is when I dream about past boyfriends (both dead). Strange. The good news is that in my dreams they both approve of my husband (whom they never met). Then again, I suppose it seems even stranger to have two dead boyfriends. I reminded my husband that he better not slip up or that will be his fate too. (Hmmm... life insurance anyone?) JUST KIDDING.

Disclaimer: I had nothing to do with either death. One died of a heart attack while mowing his grass and the other one committed suicide.

Anyhow, I really do enjoy the dreams. I haven't had a bad or scary one yet either. Anyone else? They all seem fairly happy, nice, active, etc. What really amazes me is how much I remember of my dreams the next day!

Dreaming?

Post by michael_schaap » Fri Nov 17, 2006 5:01 pm

I dont dream. The first thing the doc told me to do was to get this book and it talked about all the different levels of sleep. So now at least I know why I don't dream. I never sleep Maybe that will change soon as I get the machine.

I'm glad I stumbled into this! I thought that I was crazy thinking that I was dreaming. I fought my machine for two nights. On the third night we finally understood each other. That night the dreams started. Tonight is night 5. I have missed the dreams for years! I am glad to know I'm not going crazy!

I have several dreams a night also, which is very pleasing to me besides letting me know that I am in stage 5 sleep. I think dreams are very therapeutic for many reasons.

Well heck, I am jealous of all of you... I don't get my unit until tommorrow and if I dream at all, it is about...drowning, suffocation, trapped in theater...etc, and then it repeats itself over, and over..(types of dreams). Boy do I want relief.. I don't want to go to bed at night...Hurray for tommorrow...

Before I started using CPAP, I used to be aware of dreaming a lot. Since then I rarely remember a dream, and even then its generally when I have some other temporary malady impacting my health.

Cheers,

Bill
