UPS just delivered my new machine.Question on settings.

Post by sososleepy » Thu Feb 28, 2008 2:23 pm

Hello Everyone,
I am so excited. My new M-remstar auto with a flex was just delivered today.
Also got the smartcard reader/writer and encore viewer software. I'm working on reading and trying to understand the instructions to set my machine. My perscribed pressure is 4 on ramp to go up to only 6. At what range should i set the auto pap? I have severe brainfog so i might need help with all of the set up. I'm starting with the machine and then i'll work on the software. Any suggestions to help make this set up go smoothly would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Hugs, Sososleepy

dont know who told you to get an Auto for a pressure of 6... You should call the company that sold you the product --- they owe you all the time you need in order to fully understand its setup and operation. This goes regardless of where you bought it. Let us know.

Your CPAP was set at 6 CM, I'd set the APAP at 5 cm low, to 9 cm high, AFlex 2, no ramp needed, pressure is too low to need it. Then go with the data where you need changes. Don't jump around making changes it takes a few days data to see what's going on. Jim

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

It was more than likely her doctor, Smart Ass!

(according to this post, that's apparently what her prescription says)

If it were me, and I'd been prescribed a pressure of 6, I'd set the Respironics REMstar Auto with A-Flex this way:

Therapy Mode - Auto
Comfort Type - A-flex
Auto: Max - 15
Auto: Min - 6
A-Flex Setting - 3
Autoramp Time - 0:00
Mask Alert - Off
Auto Off - Off
Split Night Time - Off
Show AHI/Leak - On
Patient Reminder - Off
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps
3M painters tape over mouth
